Damon Benning is a breath of fresh air in Husker media.
Very in depth, honest, and optimistic point of view.
So happy he is doing play by play for the live broadcast to all of Nebraska via radio.
Whoever made that happen deserves an promotion.

seems to be similar to coach Bobby Bowden, he one time said God, family, country than maybe football, coach Rhule has said his players need to see he's a father first, (good man)
He comfortable in his own skin and confident. I realized that on that will Compton bus interview where the F bumb was being dropped and xplicit words being illustrated on bus. He owned the interview. I was surprised watching it like is this good, did someone ok this? He does him, I appreciate that. No sugarcoating. No tap dancing.
Good stuff DB. Rhule is exactly what Nebraska needed and I have no doubt he'll succeed. Attention to detail lost us what, 27 games by less than one score under Frost and Rhule isn't lacking in that department.

It was probably good to go outside the Nebraska family to hire Rhule. It was time for a new way of thinking.
Really enjoying his candor. I hope that the fans can be adults in the room when/if the going gets rough because at almost every place he's gone, when something bad happens, his candor becomes a big complaint by the fan base.
