It’s the offseason, so let’s take a look back at hockey from the past. Since the Detroit Red Wings moved to the Eastern Conference since the 2013-2014 season, it is quite possible the Ducks and Red Wings might never meet again in the Playoffs. So let’s look back at series against the biggest playoff rival of the Ducks.
The 2013 NHL Playoffs marked the sixth time Detroit and Anaheim met in the potseason. Detroit won the first two meetings in 1997 (4-0) and in 1999 (4-0). Anaheim won the next two in 2003 (4-0) and in 2007 (4-2). The last two meetings in 2009 and 2013 where both won by Detroit (4-3).
Here’s a look at the last meeting the Ducks where able to win: the Western Conference Final of the 2007 Stanley Cup Playoffs.

I remember watching game 5 during a family gathering and i converted my uncle to hockey.
A tremendous series. Lot of future HHOF members on both sides
What a great series 👍
I miss this fantastic rivalry
Hasek gave up a lot of goals that I feel could have been stopped. Lot of long range shots….
With fairer reffing the Ducks would have taken this in five. The officiating was disgraceful all series.
Game 5 is still painful for me. I watched that and remember it well
This was definitely the real Stanley Cup Finals of 2007

Outside of game 3, this series lived up to the hype
