Holy Christ these commentators are mouth breathing window lickers… contact to the head? yes. Elbowing? Absolutely! He followed through with his elbow Trying to justify the illegal hit by saying that Mitchell was leaning forward as he got hit. This is false. He reached for the puck, came back up, and was greeted by an elbow. Every team has homer commentators but this is extreme.
Where would the Kings be without Quick? Love him as a player, hate that he is on this team.
I'm a Kings fan and even I agree that this hit is a little sketchy. To be fair, Mitchell was playing low, but according to the rules, Mitchell was in a vulnerable position long enough for McNabb to have adjusted. It looked like he was starting to hip-check, but changed his angle, resulting in a reckless hit. It still would be foolish to classify this as an elbow though.

This is what's wrong with hockey a perfectly good hit followed by a guy jumping the guy who delivered the hit. Buffalo should just become a ahl.
Hit to the head. 2 mins and a lame fight.

Former teammates going at it!
That was an elbow to the head, and complete bs. We need to see a suspension for this!
good for his teammate sticking up for him.
Clean hit mitchell put himself in that position stretching for the puck
Cheap shot against his own former team.
shouldnt have to fight on a clean hit.
That was not an elbow and the hit was initiated to the upper chest. The penalty was roughing, not elbowing.

It is so hard to be a Sabres' fan now. They are bad at hockey and arguably worse at "fighting".
