Jake McCabe hit on Matthew Tkachuk – why relying on timing is dangerous
Jake McCabe launches into the space where Matthew Tkachuk’s head would have been and we likely would have called it “unavoidable” head contact. But if McCabe glides through contact, he doesn’t launch and the head remains safe.
3 out of 5 Troubas. When will the NHL come down on these leaps? I see them in the same light as the Cooke/Savard hit. There is no other point to these leaps except to try to hit the head "a big hit"….
Tkachuk was facing him while coming in with the puck. It's not like he came in from the side the way Scott Stevens used to do, when he would blindside opponents. Players need to be aware of what's coming straight toward them.

Hate Tkachuck, but dman left his feet, so 2 minutes

Tkachuck should get two minutes for that.

It's a charge, but that's it
