  1. I don't think he's being targeted. People playing in front of the net get checked and shoved. Stone was rushed back probably less than 100% because hockey players shorten their careers by playing through injuries.

  2. He’s probably not being targeted, he’s just standing in front of the net and the Oilers players are trying to push him out of the way. Maybe if he wasn’t rushed back he wouldn’t have to deal with it, but that’s a problem for Vegas management and Stone to deal with. Consequences to cap circumcision i guess.

  3. Bring up Bear wow someone doesn't know hockey… Who Oilers get for Bear who can't stay in an NHL lineup..
The folks in LV are saying that was the GK best game in a long while hahaha
FYI oilers have lost every game 1 since 2017

    FLA in 4

  4. Sure we can give him some space, but we have all our players that are sore so please no hitting on us.

  5. the hits are fine. as a KNIGHTS fan I have more of a problem with the hits after the whistle. to Mark Stone.

  6. The hits in front of the net are fine, he's battling for space near the crease back first, if you're too injured to do the job don't do it. The constant jabs after the whistle are targetting one area though, but borderline on whether its anything more than just playoff hockey.

  7. Don't get me wrong, I know this is playoff hockey and you go after a players weaknesses. But a hypothetical question. If Stone gets a cross check to the back and falls to the ice and is unable to get up on his own (which has happened to him in game before), do your opinions change on this? I don't think these cross checks are worthy of any suspension either, but given the frailty of his back it is likely that one of these cross checks causes an injury he can't play through. So much of these playoffs we've seen major penalties and suspensions given based on if the player receiving the hit is injured or not, and given that Edmonton is targeting his back if he does get injured does that have any effect on discipline? Interesting to think about.

  8. Oilers need(and will) to shift gears. They are playing against a completely different team style. I wasn't surprised with the loss. If oilers hammered them this first game it would mean a series sweep which no one was projecting. They will adapt. They will provide more support and more options for first pass for the rookie dman Vinnie so he isn't getting caught making poor choices. I'm not sure stone is getting that much extra attention over anyone else that parks in front of the net. If mcdavid or drai parked infront of the net they would be getting the exact same treatment. Crosschecks to the back suck and if you are going to sit infront of the net you are going to pay for it no matter who you are.

  9. If a player is injured enough that he is vulnerable to the basic physical play of hockey then he needs to get off the ice. Next we’ll be saying that it’s malicious to exploit the weakness of your opponent’s defense.

  10. Wow, three guys that don’t know hockey and reporting on it 😂 Watch a game and get back to me when you find one that doesn’t have cross checking in front of the net. 😮 You expect that from guys from Vegas they only know hookers, cocaine and gambling. 😅

  11. The back and ribs are the most common place to get hit… It's not targeting just because his is already hurt. He signed up to get hit there when he decided to come back.

  12. Stressing a player who's been injured is common practice in any sport. If the Oilers hit Stone, I'd hit McDavid hard and clean.

  13. Vegas just needs to send a message that if Oilers want to target Stone then it's open season on McDavid… if rumors are true about his leg. Oh does that sound unethical??? not if it's within the rules logic huh. SMH

  14. VGK fan here…I don't think these hits to Stone are dirty. I just looks like playoff hockey to me. If anything, Stone should put more protection to the back/rib area.

  15. “Picked them apart”? It was a one goal game with an empty net on a night when the Oilers clearly did not bring their best. Garbage take by salty Leafs fans mad that their team is going to be swept.

  16. This could be a better take if anyone besides Steve watched anyone besides the Leafs! Ethan Bear Jesse?? C'mon!

  17. Yes, they are targeting him. And so they should! That's hockey, it has always been like that.

  18. What would happen, if Drai switched with Austin? Would both teams be better or maybe one team?

  19. yes they are. this is what the league does. always has. always will. in the 80's when the league was littered with huge goons, players like cliff ronning , pat falloon, paul kariya were routinely gooned, usually with no calls. if some key player was playing with an injury, they went after him. desharnais is big and there's always a place for big. he's an ahl calibre D man.

  20. Looks like Bruce Cassidy and the Vegas media playing mind games. "Targetting Mark Stone"? Yeah right, when the Oilers have the best player in the world as well as the smallest player in the league on the ice. I don't think so.

  21. If Stone is worried about his back, maybe he shouldn't be parking his dumb ass in front of the net. Find me one player that this doesn't happen to…
