Perfect in what ways? Honestly asking. If he couldn’t win with that Rangers roster do we think he can with ours?

I’m torn between wanting him and Burnette

Totally onboard with Gallant.

Gallant is a confusing coach to me, he’s consistently had winning seasons but his leash has been super short everywhere he’s been. The Panthers firing of him was infamous and the GM who did it was in charge for only 16 months and fired Gallant 20 games into the season. The season before the Panthers won the division.
He went to Vegas and won the division instantly, led them to the Cup Final in their first year. He was fired a season and a half later, on pace for a 90 point season (which would’ve been his worst full season in 6 years).
He goes to New York and posts back to back 100 point seasons, and went to the Conference Finals in his first year. He is immediately canned after 1 first round loss in 7 games.
Idk he seems like a pretty good coach who just doesn’t get time to do things

The up and coming talent on the Rangers wasn’t exactly quiet about the issues they had with him. Things like not enough ice time. I would probably pass on this one.

If he couldn’t win against an AHL goalie with his team of superstars in NY, there’s no chance in hell he comes here and sustains playoff success.
Huge pass.

Not really a coach for a team that needs to develop a lot of prospects imo

Pass. Choked in a series up 2-0 never lasts more than 2 seasons and not sure he has a resume of leveling up young players.

He led Vegas to the Cup Finals in their first year. Got fired by a cutthroat front office for losing game 7 of the WCF on one of the worst major penalties ever called. I’d say this guy is pretty good at getting the most out of the players he is given. I would love to have Gallant.

Nah. Gallant has not been able to get any of his teams really past the hump. The VGK run was a perfect storm, both VGK and NYR got worse over time with him in charge

I’d prefer him to laviolette or Boudreau

I don’t really think the fit’s there anymore tbqh.
Like I was kinda interested before Torts left and we completely disassembled the old guard, but the way CBJ is built now I can’t see it working.

shit i’ll take any coach that can get consistent 90+ points out of a team.

Didn’t it already?
Not sure if I’d want him back.
