For 20 years I have been saying that the better team does not always win. Puck control and dominance on the ice goes a long way, but sometimes the god of lucky bounces rules the day. Finally the leafs were beneficiaries of that luck. The noise around Holl was detrimental to Holl for game 6. People were pretty hard on Schenn his first time in a leaf jersey. Now he's a veteran, and he and O'Reilly made a huge difference. Hats off to Dubas, and maybe Spezza for putting the right names in Dubas' head.

4:05 this is exactly why the rest of the league cannot stand leafs fans. They are insufferable af, like cowboys fans. I’m sure it’s not everyone it’s a small vocal minority that feels obligated to embarrass the rest of their fellow fans. I have nothing but respect for Tampa winning those cups, imo those where two of the hardest in history to win and they did it back to back with no offseason. I’m not going to belittle their achievement just because my team couldn’t do it. Grow up.
Love the discussion guys but there is no reason to think they will need to take Knies out of the lineup next series. He’s one of their top two left wingers. Big, strong along the boards, great hands, back checks hard. So he looked tired at times. Tampa dominated a lot of the series and I could pick out 7 Leaf forwards who were less effective than Knies. Sure Tampa targeted him because he was a difference maker out there for the Leafs. Before he came to the team I didn’t expect him to play much if at all in the playoffs and boy was I wrong. Knies needs to play in the top six with Marner and Tavares so O’Reilly can play 3C. Don’t change a thing.
Remember every team that elimated Toronto in the past 4 years have gone to the cup final!

They squeaked by a team that hasn't had a proper summer break in YEARS! They haven't won ANYTHING yet, and the legacy of losing won't go away with just a single round win. Maybe call the banner printers and have them hold off a while longer. Same with the parade plans. The Leafs have done nothing yet that's worthy of celebration.
