Recap of Oilers vs Golden Knights Game Two

These games are so entertaining when I am a neutral observer. The Oilers had a huge bounce back and there’s some real hatred brewing as we head to Edmonton for game three.

  1. This was the exact game I feared was going to happen as a VGK fan. Oilers get into their head, get the penalties going and we have no answer for that lethal power play. I remember saying to myself we are in big trouble if the rest of the team besides draisaitl shows up and they did in a big way.

  2. Did you see how terrified Bruce Cassidy was in his post game interview? Because he knows Edmonton still has another gear. Vegas maxed out their gears in game 1 when Edmonton only brought their D or C game. Vegas is shitting bricks right now. They know they're dealing with a high speed bullet train that can't be stopped.

  3. One thing you forgot to mention, the oilers started their 2nd pp unit on their last power play, and then switched out to their pk2 unit to finish it off. Their PP1 still had 60% this game.

  4. Hyman has been lowkey menacing in front of the net that actually made Vegas losing cool too. Hyman has been shoved around in front of the net a lot tonight, first Oilers PP and Draisaitl's second goal were both result of Hyman's tough play around the net.

  5. You cant stop the mighty Drai! He is too powerfull, his strength brings fear in the hearts of his opponents!

  6. That McDavid short handy was a beauty. It was an amazing game. Evander is living rent free in Vegas' minds 😂😅😂

  7. Second round games have been far less competitive so far compared to first round almost every game one sided.

Second game of the series and woooooooo the Oilers were coming to play. Leon was a machine. Connor one upped him by getting a secondary assist (and instead of getting a 5 on 5 goal he got a shortie). Bouch was great too as were Nuge (2 assists), Hyman (3 assists) and Yamo being the only Oiler with exactly 1 point on the night (everyone else had 2 or 3 because, I mean, it's the Oilers). Brossoit got shelled during the 1st period and didn't get a lot of extra help in the 2nd. The third the Oilers were more quiet and VGK louder but they got one deserved goal on Stu who was great all night. Stu didn't get as much help as I'd like to see yet he pulled off a .968 save %age. This one was physical with Kane having 24 minutes of penalties, Bjugstad having 12, Kostin with 5. The boys were wrecking them on special teams with 3 PP and 1 Shortie. I mean for a bit there you had to think Vegas must have thought Leon thought he was playing Nashville or something because he OWNED them. Forwards got shorter shifts but Nurse played over 24 nearly 25 minutes (all other defenders below 20). Nice to see the second and third PP lines get some chances too. All in all a great game, Oilers, effectively, have home ice advantage now (if it's an advantage). Monday here we come. Take care all.

  9. I picked the right year to become an oilers fan. Never thought I’d be a fan of a Canadian team lol. So damn fun to watch! They were playing Angst in honor of Draisaitl lol.

  10. This playoff scheduling sucks. Back to back lopsided games when they are the only game of the day and it’s only 2nd round.

  11. well good news they can only beat us once tonight bad news we got our asses kicked all over and lost what three fights tonight so yea thats concerning paging ryan reaves please

  12. I loved how near the end of the game there were mostly oilers fans in the crowd and you could even hear a let’s go oilers chant.

  13. This reminded me very much of game 2 vs LA. Edmonton drops game 1, having not played their best, and come out roaring in the first period. Unlike that game, however, Vegas’ goaltending couldn’t save them. And now Vegas is starting to realize (if they haven’t already) that goaltending is going to be an issue for them (9 goals against in two games). If Kane continues to get into Vegas’ heads for the rest of this series, that’s going to be huge for Edmonton.

This game really shows that when Edmonton plays a near perfect game, nobody can stop them. Vegas has no answers for Edmonton and it showed in every aspect. Edmonton won EVERY categorical battle tonight. 5v5, PP, PK, coaching, goaltending, play style, forecheck, offence, defence, you name it, Edmonton won it.

But the series isn’t over and we know Vegas isn’t happy with how last night played out. I expect a much tighter and closer game in game 3.

  14. It was a great game for the Oilers, here’s hoping they’ll take the next two games at home to their advantage
