If they can manage to stay afloat until the penalty comes off the cap they might be able to become a contender with that money
Common problem last 2 years in playoffs, the flower, I don't understand why Billy is in love with this guy, get the flower outta here, get jesper in there
Dean should probably be fired, but I don’t know if there’s any better coaches out there.
In my opinion, the buyouts of Parise and Suter are going to age terribly if they do poorly next season. They would have been done the season after that, and the cap charge over the next two seasons is only roughly $300k in savings, not even a league minimum contract. Will be interesting to see if they can make some good signings over the offseason.
It’s pure self flagellation being a fan in Minnesota
Called it at the beginning of the season, never use Fleury in the playoffs.
if they only listened.
They are not going to do a rebuilt Guerin said so, but they will try to put as god team as possible, while building for the future, on the ice. I think thats smart. As they younger players starts to debut they will learn from the the more seasoned players. I am looking forward to the year after the cap crunch is over.
I'd be all for the retool/rebuild I think they need to get into the draft lottery a couple times and hopefully get a decent draft pick
Trade Gus, play Wallstedt with Fluery. Why make a top prospect goalie wait 3 years for a highly paid Gus if you’re in cap hell.
I feel bad for the Bar down ladies. They are stuck in round one purgatory
The Twins have won the World Series in '24, '87 and '91, the Bucks '71 and '21 and of course the '99 Stanley Cup.
Awww, poor Klingberg.
They need to extend Nyquist. He probably can't get too much money at this point, and he just feeeeels Minnesota.
I think Ek, Boldy and KK with Gus and Jasper in the net is a solid start. Once the dead cap drops off and we can get a solid top 6 offensive center, Wild could really take off.
You said it best: guerin needs to work some serious magic. No easy way through these next couple years. But I believe in him.
Video idea – Breaking down the State of Minnesota's playoff futility over the past 30 plus years
Wild fan: I want the Wild to not compete next two years and focus on developing their young talent they have coming up from iowa. If they can maximize their prospects and get them the NHL experience they need, they will be very interesting once the cap hit is gone. Take a few steps back to get your running start for 2025.
All they need to do is put a competent team on the ice for the next two seasons. With the cap increase and the dead cap space coming off all they need to do is keep kal. They can rebuild or retool the rest, the main objective has to be not letting kal go unless its for a BIG star or a HIGH draft pick ie with a team that has a draft pick in the top 5.
Would've loved to hear your thoughts on head coach Dean Eveson and if he should or is on the hot seat.
Um – Our woman’s professional basketball team won a championship. No one remembers or cares but technically it’s still kinda considered a win?????
Am I crazy to think this team is better with Ryan Suter?
It's impressive that Guerin has been able to keep this team in playoff contention, despite those massive buyout penalties. I wonder how much longer he'll be able to do that? I can see the Wild taking another step back next year.
I hate being a Mn sports fan
To start , the Wild are in very good shape
The best thing Billy did was hire
Gill Brandt for talent evaluation
The best they have ever had !
There ranked number one in talent
However Dean Evason does nothing for me as a coach, latest example playing
Fleur in the second game
What the Hell is he smoking?
Yet again his line up combinations
Are terrible his refusal to make adjustments in game , and last but not least, his refusal to play the rookies
My hope is that they hire Andrew Burnett
From New Jersey he's a hellava coach
And home boy. Right now they have
Rossi Beckman Walstedt Walker all waiting . l might add the referee's I believe are on the take .
Kaprisov was crosschecked 24 times
And not one penalty called
And this is going on in all series in the NHL the refs answer to nobody
No accountability. Why?????
Close, but never close enough – this is the fate and destiny of the Minnesota Wild.
This is what happens when the gms give out ridiculous lifetime contracts to players past their prime. We see those situations too often: Chicago, Minnesota, and LA just to name a few.
Wild fan – I want sundqvist to stay, trade Foligno. Spurgeon loses the C. Trade Zucc if we can. Bring the young kids up, at least some of them. Bring Gus and Duhaime back. Trade Addison, trade Hartman. Don’t let Dean have guys that play like he used to all over the lineup
Minnesota needs to get pass for first round.
MN professional men’s sports have gone 119 seasons combined without a championship. They are the champions of not winning championships. 🥇
Zucc to Vancouver🙂
Wild – Worst name in major North American sports.
Zuccarello won’t get traded. Wild really don’t want to piss off Kaprizov
I’d like them to try to trade fluery and foligno and resign nyquist.
I seem to remember the Wild being one of the teams most used to highlight payroll inequality when a cap was being argued.. LOOOOOOONG story short, careful what you wish for.
maybe they could grow a pair and play like professionals instead of amateurs.
It's Marco "Rowsi"
The Wild always range between pretty good and mediocre. Always. Only 3 times have they ever escaped the first round, in 13 playoff appearances. Rough.
Where’s the Minnesota Miracle Man Gordon Bombay when the state needs him most?! 🤔
