They talk about the ramifications of drafting Connor Bedard or Adam Fantilli, Steve Yzerman’s strategy for his three consecutive second-round picks, moving up in the first round and more.
Then, to finish off the show, the duo predicts which Los Angeles Kings defenseman Tony Wolak could be talking about in an upcoming article and the dangers of trading with the Winnipeg Jets.

Best strategy for the 3 2nd round picks? Move one of them to jump from 18/17 to 11-12 if someone’s there we really want and/or move 2 of them to jump up 26-28th if again someone else is there we really like . If we keep all 3 2nds pick best skilled players with huge upside I don’t care if they’ll be guaranteed to play for us someday on a 4th line. Those players are easily attainable. Draft kids with top line potential.
And Not trading any of the 2nds for a husso type player. We need to use those picks for players who’ll be part of the longterm future not to add some other 28 year old, same with the making a trade with the jets suggestion(unless it’s perfetti which won’t happen)
41 wahlberg 42 edstrom 43 buut If teams are dumb enough to pass on him cause he’s russian if not take nilsson …. not too worried about taking a dman were beyond stacked and we can always make a trade with a veleno, zadina,Hanas or dare I say it berggren or some other kid . We won’t have enough room for everyone. We can always take a goalie in the 4th or 5th I’d say we’re ok so long as we sign gylander now and not wait till he can walk like petruzzelli did
Pick 18, 42 and 43 for pick 8 from the caps. Who says no? Wings would have 2 top 10 picks
Great show as always. Weird to watch this on a Sunday and not a Saturday lol.
Let’s say the wings do get bedard. Will they play him right away in the nhl, or will they per usual let their prospects play in the ahl or over seas first?
Also if you look at the video about kraken vs avs. I called the kraken winning in 5. So I am one of the few people outside of Seattle that had the kraken winning lol.
Mock Draft picks if the draft ends up like this:
1. Vancouver – Connor Bedard
2. Detroit – Adam Fantilli
3. Anaheim – Will Smith
4. Columbus – Leo Carlsson
5. Chicago – Matvei Michkov
6. San Jose – Zach Benson
7. Montreal – Dalibor Dvorsky
8. Arizona – Ryan Leonard
9. Philadelphia – Oliver Moore
10. Washington – Nate Danielson
11. St. Louis – Colby Barlow
12. Arizona – Gabe Perreault
13. Buffalo – David Reinbacher
14. Pittsburgh – Matthew Wood
15. Nashville – Brayden Yager
16. Calgary – Eduard Sale
17. Detroit – Axel Sandin Pellikka
Let's just win the 1st pick, get Bedard and be done with it
I think he was talking about brandt clarke
i liked axel landen from the U18s, solid and hit everything he could, while rarely allowed the play to pass behind him. if you could get him in later rounds, great value.
after buffalo drafted dahlin, they threw spaghetti on the wall and prayed it stick.. they were desperate to make the playoffs and ended up rushing dahlin who in my mind needed a Power/Makar/Heiskanen/Seider year outside NHL to come into his own.
an NHL 'rebuild' is very complex thing.
isnt that matvei michkov russian contract a little overblown? if a NHL team really wanted michkov to come over, they could probably make that contract go away.
