tavares, ROR, marner, nylander, and matthews have combined for 7 points in 3 games. lundell, barkov, tkachuk – *each* of them have 4 points. no one amidst the leafs top-6 have looked like a major threat. none of them – in this round – have displayed the sort of urgency you *need* in the playoffs. too many mistakes, too many missed chances.

Morgan Rielly should have been the captain from the start. At least he tries, Nylander had a decent game, but Matthews, Tavares and especially give the puck away Marner were awful. When Marner did try passing the puck, it was either to soft and a clear giveaway or a rocket like pass off teamates’ skates. The only reason he did pass was to avoid taking a hit.

I figured it out. It’s not talent or effort issues. The issue is when these guys get stressed they do what so many of us do and fucking tunnel vision. They stop playing as a team and then it’s easy as taking a shit for the other team to 1v4 them in their zone. This team doesn’t play as a team when the pressure’s on.
