Letter Grades for the 2022-23 Minnesota Wild

On today’s episode of Locked on Wild, Alex Micheletti joins the show as we hand out letter grades to the 2022-23 Minnesota Wild. We start with the offense as a whole, an offense that struggled to replicate it’s success in 2021-22. And not only were there fewer goals, but fewer exciting goals as well. We do look at the bright spots as well as players who regressed. We move to the defense and the goaltending, which carried the team for most of the season. We look at how both Wild goalies were able to steal games at various points of the season and kept the team in games even when the offense wasn’t clicking on all cylinders. We move to special teams and coaching, and note the level of struggle the Wild Power Play had throughout the year, while being held to only one successful unit for most of the year. We discuss the letdown in the postseason and the lack of adjustments by the Wild coaching staff even with key players missing from the lineup.
