  1. A lot of the game last night both teams looked like last year’s Av’s-Bolts final. Florida looks very tough. Go Cats!!

  2. i couldnt remember if i watched this this morning so ima watch it. good review, rip the laffs.

  3. Seeing Reinhart bury that OT winner brought a smile to this Sabres fans face. He’s the one of the big three we traded I hope has the most success

  4. Crazy how Florida is looking better this year than last year when they won the President's Trophy.

  5. BeLEAF!!!… that nothing has changed. Best point: The regular season IS NOT played the same way as the playoffs; and if you're not prepared to play BETTER than you have in the regular season; or if you think you can judge your playoff potential based on regular season stats or play alone, then, you're wildly fooling yourself. GM: "I trust in this core" (for the nTH time in a row)… Yes, someone is indeed fooling themselves. And that's fine, EXCEPT, he's insisting that THE FANS believe his foolishness too, and that's not fair. In fact, you on the precipice of gas-lighting your fans, when you won't even look into the mirror and admit what you are.

  6. time for another 10+ year drought for the leafs to make it past 2nd round, at this rate the leafs will finally win the cup by 2050-2060

  7. Matthews' 'first ever fighting major' – HAHAHA, that was defined as a "fight", against Stamkos??? Okay, whatever.. – is a PERFECT picture of just how much you're actually going to get from Matthews when 'push comes to shove'; and if that's the level of effort and determination you've got with these guys, with THIS guy as their leader, then, you're not going anywhere.

  8. Completely right about Marner. Matthews played well in the defensive zone, but the top six didn't do much. Nylander had an amazing assist on Gustafson's goal. Don't blame this loss on Woll. Truth is the team is not well coached. turnovers and they left Reinhart completely alone on OT winner

  9. At least now Leafs fans have a goalie injury to use as an excuse to explain it all away

  10. It's nice to see the true character of my team. The Leafs "core four" 0 goals this series. The round 1 win was their Stanley Cup now they're okay with mediocrity again. Let's hope keefe loses his job and we get a coach tough on these whimps.

  11. "We want Florida"
I was not on board with that chant.

You don't want to face Boston.. but instead, you'd rather face the team that beat them? I've never really understood that kind of logic.

Even if you think that gives the Leafs an easier path.. since when have the Leafs ever made things easy for themselves?

On to this game.. Maurice complaining how many penalties the Panthers have taken.. suddenly, Wes McCauley is calling the game, and they can do no wrong.. not a single transgression? Everything above board, nothing suspicious there at all..

Murray's been cleared.. but he wasn't the backup on this night.. so.. you have to figure it's probably going to be Woll's net if Sammy can't play? Tough to stick a guy in who hasn't seen any game time in months into a do-or-die game. You can make an argument either way..

Just gotta take it a game at a time, I guess.. You win and you get to keep playing..

  12. Idk man, the turnovers by Matthews have been constant. Especially the one that led to the powerplay which they scored on when Woll came in. Countless plays in round one. I'm starting to think he's their biggest problem, which sucks since he's their best goal scorer. It's for sure time to break up that core! The return would be insane for any one of them. Who of the big four would you trade?

  13. In the summer of 1961 my parents took me to the C.N.E.. In one of the buildings we visited there was a section used by Imperial Oil and they had Murray Westgate (if you remember him you're a senior citizen) and also Bob Pulford. The Leafs then went on to win 3 cups in a row and another one in 1967. Pulford, who was on all 4 of those teams, is still alive. Hopefully while I'm also alive the Leafs will win another cup.

  14. Could you give more in depth analysis of the game rather than just going over every event that occurred in the game? I watched the game so I would rather learn something new than just listening the game all over again.

  15. For them to win 4 in a row, Bob would have to choke and so would the whole team, I don't see it.

  16. When your best player is David Kampf…
"Done like dinner" – Tiger Williams
C'mon Leafs, you're the quintessential underdogs of all time now.

  17. Although being down 3-0 is going to be a tall order to overcome, it's still possible and, although it rarely happens, it still has happened in the past. So there's still hope for us Leafs fans – as miniscule as it may appear to be.

I know I'm probably one of the very few Maple Leafs' fans who haven't given up hope that they can actually turn around this series and gasp even win it. Games 2 and 3 could have gone either way and Florida wasn't as dominant as their fans would like to think, so it's not like Toronto is getting blown out by Florida. If you combine the "time of possession" statistics in this entire series (especially Games 2 and 3), you'll probably find that Toronto had the advantage.

Given the unpredictability of the playoffs this year – Florida beating a record-setting Boston team after being down 3-1 in the series and second-year Seattle taking out the reigning Cup champions in Colorado (to name two examples) – it shouldn't come to a surprise to anyone if a reverse-sweep happened.

Finally, a desperate team is a dangerous team and Florida fans should know all about this. For the last two or three weeks of the regular season, their team had to play with a lot of desperation just to make it into the playoffs and rode some of that momentum and desperation in their series comeback win over the Bruins. If the Maple Leafs' players finally start playing with that same sense of urgency, it could be a long series.

  18. Expecting anything more or less from the Make Beliefs is utterly foolish!….simply the best results corrupt officiating can buy!

  19. So pathetic now marner or matthews get nominated for so ma y awards due to most voters in the area seeing their games…other plays are more deserving

  20. Toronto is done, i was hoping for oilers vs leafs final, cause whom ever had won that final both Canadian citys would have been burning after it was done.
