Simon Edvinsson was without a doubt the best player on the ice for the Detroit Red Wings again, making big plays offensivley, defensivley, and getting rewarded with a goal (eventually) early. But it wasn’t enough as Detroit’s sloppy second and poor goaltending cost them a 2-0 lead and 4 unanswered, resulting in Magnus Hellberg being pulled for Alex Nedeljkovic. Alex Chiasson scored again, this time with the goalie pulled, but thats all the they could muster. Flyers Saturday. #lgrw

I really like Edvinnson on the ice and also gives the impression that he is NHL ready, but I don't understand how you can say that a third line player was the best player on the team.

I don't remember any of the goals Hellberg allowed being outright bad. I got the feeling he was pulled to wake up the team because their effort after maybe the first 10 minutes was pretty pathetic. They started that game looking like the team I want them to look like at all times. Then they went back to not knowing how to play offense.
Veleno and Zadina really need to find another level next year to help this team.
Just wanna say they did the thing we wanted in the 3rd period. Had Seider and Edvinsson on the same shift with about 4min left in the game. I was giddy to say the least.
