Yes terrible shot to the head but we have seen Boston or TB do worse and not even get penalized, and remember Perry viciously cross checked Bunting at center ice a week ago or so, Bunting did not have the puck, and Perry did not even get a penalty. Yes Bunting can go off nutso, mode for sure. He got 3 games suspension by the way. Bunting could get maimed killed whatever and the other team knows there will be no penalty. This is where this situation has gotten unfortunately. Remember the vicious vicious cross checks by Chara on multiple Leafs Marchand doing his usual extremely dirty crap and the refs just put the whistle away, so yep Kadri snapped and did his thing as those ass hat refs would not give a penalty to any Bruin. Chelios I heard… said the officiating last night was just awful. If the refs have a bias and all fans have an opinion on this, well a team like Toronto cannot complain or change said officiating.
Bunting is one of those fake tough guys. Some team will overpay for him this summer as a UFA

Forget liability for the Leafs. He is a liability to opposing players. ANd that little rat and the Leafs gets rewarded with only a 3 game suspension while Cernak is likely out for the series. I guess Bunting figured with the defective way Dubas built the team with mediocre defense, the only way Leafs can win a series is taking out Bolts D to even things up.

Every year same ol Leafs, They will trade Bunting and he will win a Stanley Cup with another team! Just like Kadri, then the leafs will trade for him again giving up draft picks cause he is a proven winner.
He's clearly a liability and at least some of this falls on the coach for not reigning him in. I don't think he should play again this year, we don't need those kinds of penalties.

It is amazing how all these hockey pundits talk from an ivory tower! Kyper was no choir boy when he played and I am sure there is some old footage out there showing his dumb antics during the playoffs. Bunting is a guy who played 82 games for the Leafs this year, but now there is a trust issue??? I hope he gets back into the lineup and shows all these so called "hockey experts" what a team player he is and can be in the playoffs. Let them all eat crow when Bunting blocks shots, sets up Matthews and Tavares, scores a few timely goals, negates an important icing call and works his butt off to help the Leafs win. Give the guy a break and stop crucifying him!
