I say this every year – I am done with the Leafs. This core – no matter how hard Dubas has tried – cannot win. It is sad, but just can't do this anymore. Look forward to an interesting summer in the Leafs office.

Matthews and Marner are forced to play against Barkov who has them in his pocket. Scoring chances when Barkov played against Matthews 13-4 (high sc 6-3) in game 3. Against Marner it was 14-2. Tkachuk has gotten lot of credit fo Panthers' success (and rightfully so) but Barkov sure has been elite with his 2-way game too.

No wonder Leaf fans have forgotten about the Tampa series. Game 3 was a must-win and no sense of urgency, no passion, no nastiness, no pushback? Are they saving it for Game 4? Why? Does anyone think they are going to magically decide to dominate for 4 straight games? Fans will give their team a pass for lots of reasons. Key injuries. Really bad game-changing call by the ref. Outclassed by a team that's clearly better. Even fatigue if you've just come off Game 7 and play a team that's coming off a sweep. Go down swinging. It happens. But not showing up? No way.

Leafs fans love to think their suffering is unique to them, as if the Panthers didn't go through the exact same scenario (but even worse honestly) JUST LAST SEASON. President's Trophy, most goals scored in 25 years, finally win a playoff series for the first time in 25 years (25 > 19), just to get swept in round 2 by their demons in Tampa, with their top guys all being completely invisible. Panthers are just having a balanced diet. First they got the meat with the Bruins, now some Leafy greens with the Maple Leafs.
The core 4 are getting paid no matter how they do in the playoff's — they have no drive or passion for the playoffs — zero backbone – Someone in the core 4 has to be traded in the off season.. its the only way to shake the room up….
