Lotteries are just a bad gimmick
The Michigan Lottery does a better job of announcing the Power Ball numbers than the NHL with their shtick. Gag.

So…how goes that lotteries de incentivize “tanking” theory. Chicago tanked harder for Bedard than Buffalo did for McDavid.
Pretty lame but i'll take another good reason to dislike Chicago. Edmonton getting dragged even with McDavid and Draisaitl tonight, just because Chicago gets Bedard doesn't mean they automatically win the cup the next year. Funny seeing literally everyone but Chicago fans be annoyed by this, maybe the Leafs will lose some heat. I trust Yzerman's ability to build the WIngs for longevity, and ideally they will have enough of a complete, true team to elevate fully.
I now hate Connor Bedard! I wanted to like the kid also
