Wings fan checking in. Bedard is a fantastic player but I think with Zegras already as an electrifying player, Fantilli is a better fit if you guys wanna win cups. Defensively responsible 1C

I said leading up to the draft I wouldn’t be mad to miss Bedard as long as we get Fantilli.
I realize now that was a fucking lie, but Fantilli is still a fantastic player and we will all be happy to have him within a years time.

This is going to sound crazy, but I remember seeing a picture that someone’s edited a hawks jersey on him and immediately thinking “oh no, he looks like already plays for them. He’s going to be a hawk.” After thinking the ducks were gonna get him for so long it just feels like a slap in the face. I honestly hope Chicago never wins a cup with bedard. I hope he never finds his groove and becomes just an average player. I know, I’m petty. But I would never wish harm upon him. Can someone tell me what fantilllis pros and cons are?

Bedard cant play defense with that frame. In fact, i bet we see a defensive shift in the game going forward.

I’m real pissed Chicago got number one, (would have preferred San Jose over them, at least fucking pretend you don’t favor your O6 and east coast teams…) but Fantilli is a phenomenal consolation prize.
Consider this, the last time we drafted a freshman Hobey Baker winner, we put his number in the rafters. Between him, McT, Zegras, Terry, and that fucking power house defense, we’re gonna be just fine.

Fantilli, assuming that’s the pick, immediately becomes the best Ducks prospect in recent history and possibly in franchise history.
I’ve been saying for years that it’s very hard to win a Cup without a top-2 overall level talent. He can be that guy for us. I think MacKinnon is a very reasonable comp.
