Shop Bunts, keep ROR, Sammy is a back-up, and this game is exactly what we expected — "no discipline, no win". ESPECIALLY if Wes McCauley is at the helm of officiating. Tampa is UNDEFEATED with his officiating and Keefe coaching(hint, hint). But make no mistake, the Leafs DESERVED this L. Go up from here, or down to the sofa, again.

I disagree with you saying that the bunting hit was not vicious, it took the Tampa player out of the game and it looked dirty . The game is a lot slower on TV. He should be suspended for it too.. Also where you said the goal shouldnt have been a goal. I disagree too on USA network they showed an angle that Canadian feed didn't show where it did cross the line.. I will say that I dont know how the ref saw that from the angle he was at but it did in fact cross the line. I'm not a Tampa fan btw. Also Bunting will have a phone hearing which means that he will miss at least 1 game maybe two.
I've been wondering to myself for two weeks if it might be good for them to lose game 1, badly. To embarrass them this early, with plenty of games left for redemption.
I just pray they turn up for game 2.

Looked like the Leaf's are in their normal playoff form. Logical place to start is thinking they have a chance. They have mastered the art of under performing, sloppy play, and embarrassing themselves. Game 2 I see going the same way. Bolts are living rent free in Toronto. Looks like another early exit in the playoffs.

If I take any small semblance of joy from this series (which Toronto looks poised to lose) it'll be the injuries we can rack up. Fuck em. Tampa fights dirty and they have the league in their pocket. I have no sympathy.

Get down 3-0. Get 2 goals and get back into it. Then Bunting does Bunting things and we lose all the momentum. He cost the game. I expect a win in game 2 while he is suspended and not costing us.
Challenging thst goal was beyond stupid
Tickets to a Leafs game are expensive on a November Tuesday — they're especially pricey during the playoffs; it really says a lot to see how many of those seats were left empty in the 3rd.
From a Sabres fan, at least your team has made it to the playoffs since 2011. So it could be worse
Fan since 87, my first playoff game. Lucky me. This team has learned nothing last 6 years. It is what it is. I am over it. Looking forward to the major rebuild and trying again in a few years. This core is an amazing regular season team, crap playoff team. Tampa and other recent Presidents winners have proven that regular season does not matter. Just get in.
I rather have an average team like the Kraken, get into the playoffs as a wildcard, and do some major damage in the post season.
This current team just is unwilling to do what is needed to make a deep run and do the thing!

Mccabe hit was not intent to injure I think, bunting knew exactly what he was doing when he slung that elbow back into cernak.
Made me wonder what it would've looked like if Ron Maclean compared the Leafs losing that game to the death of John Lennon and say that the Leafs knew better than the Nazis.
Bunting intended to deliver a hard shot and he knew it was away from the puck and he intended to catch Cernak in a vulnerable position which would make it even more impactful. All that is right on the tape. To give him the benefit of the doubt, he might have intended to catch him hard in the upper chest, missed, and hit the head instead, but it's a really dangerous play even if give the benefit of the doubt and clearly a major. As for the length of the suspension, I suspect the league knows more about what the medical staff is saying than is public and I bet they told the league Cernak is definitely out a week, which means maybe Tampa gets him back for game 5, so the league put Bunting out till Cernak would have a chance to be back.
