Last nights results all but settle the fact Yzerman HAS to trade for an elite level goal scorer. There’s enough prospects/picks to trade for one. Should be an interesting summer and I can’t see Yzerman just sitting on his ass and doing nothing. We can’t rely on the lottery anymore. We did it the right way and still got fucked. Silver lining is I still think the Red Wings are better off with Raymond/Seider. That’s the perk of there not being a generational talent when the Wings were at their worst.
Side note: I wish nothing but the best for Bedard and it’s not his fault he’s going there so he shouldn’t be treated like trash. It is unfortunate he’s going to a garbage franchise that in all honesty deserves nothing after what they did with no repercussions and the fact their shitty owner makes a profit from this. I’m glad fans of the NHL collectively hate them because they deserve it.

The silver lining is that he is in the west I guess. It just sucks that such a scummy franchise gets anything nice.
Saying that the NHL draft lottery is rigged is NOT a conspiracy theory. It’s an obvious business strategy.
This Blackhawks/Bedard thing really hurts my interest in the league anymore. It’s a really bad look for a league that’s struggling with viewership, and just made such a poor marketing choice in jersey branding as well. Their choice to go with ESPN was absolute shit as well.
This league is run like absolute shit and as die hard as I am about hockey it’s just killing my motivation to keep up. There’s absolutely no silver linings, I can’t think of one single positive thing this league has done in recent memory. I will be boycotting with my wallet soon and making sure to find streams of games instead of purchasing any kind of tv package like I was originally doing.
Convinced we will take Mike knubles son Cole in the middle rounds. He’ll be a re-entry player but he’s absolutely lighting it up in the ushl every night. Tons of skill and upside.
We might not get the best prospect in the draft this year. But Yzerman will pick the best player in the draft at 9.
I swear this place starts to sound like a Yu-Gi-Oh episode every time the franchise experiences some hardship.

Here me out. Mitchov is available at 4. Yzerman plays Jedi mind tricks with SJS and trades 9th + 17th/18th to them for 4th overall. Drafts Mitchkov, who magically turns into a center. Yzerman then literally walks into Russia announced, punches Putin in the dick without saying a single word, Putin understands, Yzerman rope swings out of the window and into a helicopter with Mitchkov on his back, even Jarmo kekalainen is like that dude crazy af. Yada yada yada, we win the cup in 2024.
Sound ridiculous? Well it’s more likely than us getting anything from the lottery.
