Packaging a 3rd and a 4th will probably move us up into the late 40s/50s of the 2nd round.

Trade all our picks to Chicago for 1OA. Do it now!

I wonder if there’s any appetite for trading down. San Jose traded down the 11th last year and got 27, 34, and 45

Seattle has quite a few 2nd rounders from their fire sale last year, Detroit has a ton of picks, San Jose also has 26 and 36 and you could add solid prospects for that if no one enticing is available.

Maybe he should have just kept the 1st rounder that we got for Horvat then. Guy is daft as fuck.

Hronek might be ok, but he’s also injury prone.

EDIT: Could have had 3 picks in the top 35 ffs and I’m being downvoted for thinking that would have been nice is the deepest draft since 2004.

Chicago can have a Bedard for now but we will take the richest of the rich in this deep draft to build a contender for when Bedard comes home

I feel like if there are no great D or C options avaliable at 11 they might trade down to get someone they want later in the 1st while also adding a 2nd as well

It could be a good idea, but it matters on the class. I know this draft is front loaded, but I don’t have a good sense on where the talent dropoff is. At some point in the 2nd/3rd, your strategy needs to move from “need the highest pick” to “need the most picks” because the players have a similar chance of making an impact.

Sometimes there is a “low floor, high ceiling” project player that is worth ensuring you get. A guy like Hoggy with exceptional tools and skills but a factor that keeps them out of the other team’s sights (like Hog’s height).

Everyone would love to burn 3s and 4s to get a 2 ,….no GM makes that deal though

With this deep of a draft I’d rather keep the picks and have more lottery tickets

We aren’t exactly known for using 2nd rounders well

If Reinbacher is gone they should make a similar deal that SJ did with 11 OA last year

I wonder if the Canucks would consider trading our 11th for the 18th (originally NYI) and 43rd (originally ours) we traded to Detroit, now that the lottery is over. I suppose that would kinda change the Hronek trade to Hronek for 11th overall, which sounds great on paper lol.

Ok but now imagine just not trading your 2nd away in the 1st place. Someone please tell me what the cap space we got for Jason dickenson did for us this year?
