After a SEVENTEEN year playoff series win drought, the Leafs are finally moving onto the Second round. With that John Tavares OT goal, 17 years of demons were slayed. A huge weight was lifted off the shoulders of everyone in Toronto, and they celebrated all night long. Rightfully so.

Cut em some slack guys. They hand won a playoff series in 19 years. To put that into perspective, I was 9 years old when the Leafs lost to Philly in 2004.
However, I find it funny the fans were judging the fans of New Jersey for doing the same thing

My cousin (a maple leafs fan) gifted me a wonderful Mets sweatshirt a few years back, hidden inside was a islander Tavares jersey as he had just left, I told them that as long as I owned that jersey the leafs will never win. After last years heartache I burned it with them. I would like to think the jersey had magical powers.

I was in Toronto at the time and, yeah hugest party ever. My family went to the jays game where all of the leafs fans got hammered, and then like a tsunami marched over to the leafs rink. I was outside of downtown Toronto and I heard the celebrations that went down. People were literally happier than they were on their wedding day. But yeah. Completely justified.
