this was planned, Kane goes to NY for the playoffs so the NHL could have a NY team in the cup which is always their hope due to market size and Chicago gets picks. Then the NHL has a "lottery" where Chicago has a much lower chance than Anaheim to win it and voila they behind close doors get the pick. Now Kane will go back to Chicago as a UFA and it all looks legit. Now Kane will mentor Bedard until he retires and Chicago does the wash rinse repeat. Watch them get a top pick next year as well. This was so predictable.
as bad as Columbus has been over their 20 plus years they've had 1 first overall in Rich Nash. The NHL hates the small market teams, Nashville, Columbus, Winnipeg, Detroit, St Louis, Minnesota, all those teams never get a 1 overall except Buffalo a few times. The NHL needs to go worst teams get the top picks in order they finish. This draft lottery is such a scam and everyone knows it.
Bettman needs to go! It's okay for the blackhawks to cover up the Kyle Beach incident for a decade. The organization should've lost their first round picks for the next four years. Instead, they're rewarded with Connor Bedard.
