[Sekeres and Price] Cam Robinson on potential forwards the Canucks could take at 11: “Dalibor Dvorsky is a player I’ve heard Vancouver is interested in…they really like him – he’s a really safe player…Leonard…Danielson…Yager.”

I doubt the Canucks will target a “safe player”. They’ll take player with the highest ceiling and biggest difference maker. Listen to Allvin here, starting at around the 1:40 mark:

Matthew Wood please. Or Sandin Pelikka if Wood is not available.

Leonard and Dvorsky are both likely gone before we pick, and we can do better than Yager and Danielson who are both likely to go in the mid-to-late teens.

Cam Robinson is the man, he’s my go-to when it comes to all things prospects. He also seems to be pretty high on Simashev so that’s interesting

Dalibor Dvorsky is striking me as a very sneaky pick. Everything I read about him is basically “one of the better defensive forwards in the draft, could use a bit of work on offense and skating” followed by a glowing review of his shooting, passing, and awareness…so like, how much offensive work does he really need?

Personally I’m interested in Willander, Dvorsky and Danielson at that spot, assuming the draft follows most rankings.

Also, if a winger is the BPA there…. you trade down. This org has way too many Wingers.

Normally that isn’t an issue but given that Winger is the LEAST Valuable position in the league and that we have no top D or C prospects… We need to prioritize D and C.

Dvorsky is a top 8 pick most likely if we get him at 11 I’d be ecstatic.

Very interesting listen!! My opinion of Oliver Moore increased after listening to this while my interest in Sandin-Pellikka decreased.

    * Axel Sandin-Pellikka. Robinson is skeptical of him because of his size. Not convinced his WJ showing will translate. Names recent Swedish comparables like Boqvist, Lundkvist and Söderström. Ouch.
    * Oliver Moore. Says he is the best skater. Put up good numbers despite ok linemates.
    * Dalibor Dvorsky. Calls him reasonably “safe” player. Might get drafted higher because of offensive potential. Should have strong two-way, penalty killer career at least.
    * Ryan Leonard. Drive and pop winger. Could be hard skill center again.
    * Nate Danielson. Older player. Limited ceiling but good speed.
    * Bayden Yager. Disappointing season. High upside. Good shot and is competitive. Middle six kinda guy at least.

Based on that, I’d rank it

    1. Dvorsky
    2. Moore
    3. Leonard
    4. Yager
    5. Danielson
    6. Sandin-Pellikka

I hate to say it, but maybe this pick should be bundled up with a couple of bad contracts and traded.

I’d pick one of the American trio or wood. Wood is so underrated rn, near 1ppg in college in his draft Eligible year is amazing plus he’s got size.

I’d like to see how this comment turns out in 2-3 years but I think he’ll he better than dvorsky. He’ll be a steal

Ah dang, he’s my bust pick for this draft, lol.
