It wasn't a "hockey play", the player had gotten rid of the puck long before, he raised his stick ready to chop down on him more than ten feet away, glided in for more than a couple of seconds, and therefore was both premeditated and the exact definition of "intent to injure". Pietroangelo is one of my favourite players in the league, but his actions had zero excuse and there is no place in the game for that nonsense.

Definitely not a suspension. There have been things in this playoff significantly worse that have resulted in just fines. Additionally, he’s never once been suspended before in his career. Only way he gets a suspension is if draisaitl is out for the next game or if The Dept of player safety changes after how horrible of a job they’ve done so far.
