Having said all that, the slash on Draisaitl could easily be a suspension for the series while Nurse might be the one game. If they balance this out, it’s definitely not fair. That kind of slash doesn’t belong anywhere in hockey. But hey, I don’t suspect the player review board will listen to us.

Woodc needs to take some responsibility for having his $9m Dman, 1/2 of the D payroll out of the line-up for the most important game of the year. To expect 3 rookies; Desharn, Brobe, Bouch (&Ceci) to figure out new pairings – double their minutes – & not be impacted is not reality. It is possible they will survive & hope they do – but it is a major loss after building mo & getting a working system in Gm4. It did not just happen- Coach is responsible to coach & make sure players play to win… know their positions, when to not take penalties, etc. This is a known rule. Responsibility? Discipline?
