Snoop Dogg will be good for the game. He sees how the NHL sucks at marketing its players and the game. I think he’ll bring more exposure to more people.

Definitely should be snoop. He would probably end up pushing bettman out.

Legitimate question: how involved in hockey operations are the owners? Not that Snoop couldn’t make it work but he’s said he has never played hockey. How much would hockey instincts and vision that comes from playing the game benefit the success of the organization? Or is it common to hire advisors to help analyze hockey operations?

Snoop Dogg took off Dr. Dre’s first album from Spotify to sell it as an NFT, so I’m pretty worried about he might want to do with the Senators in terms of stupid decisions.

That’s a bummer. Ryan would’ve done well as evidenced by every single thing he touches turning to gold.

So no Hulu show Onward to Ottawa? That alone woulda made it worth it.

  7. Milestailsprowe

That was never gonna go through. The NHL wants someone who can deliver on a downtown arena

  8. lousylakers

This has nothing to do with him living in Vancouver once right?

Ryan’s waiting for the Aquilini’s to give up and sell the Canucks

Honestly if he did it a bit more quietly, I wonder if all these celebrities wouldn’t have jumped onboard.

It won’t be The Weeknd much longer. He’s stated his next album will be the last under that pseudonym. Besides, I’m going to guess he’ll need to sign contracts with his real name: Abel Makkonen Tesfaye.

Snoop will have to sign with his real name as well: Calvin Cordozar Broadus Jr. As long as he can let go of the joint long enough to sign his name, that is.

Ryan Reynolds wouldn’t have to worry about that. That is his real name. Okay, he may also need to insert Rodney as his middle name. But then again, he bowed out of buying the Senators.

    Pretty sad, honestly.

A well intentioned bid has become overrun. I hope the other bidders aren’t just in it for an investment opportunity.

    Good luck.

The celebrities are all just minority shareholders in these bids. They add several million dollars to a Billion dollar proposal. They may have influence in marketing, and promotion but don’t be mistaken, Snoop, The Weeknd or even Ryan would have no actual clout when it comes to hockey operations. It’s no different than me owning a few hundred shares in Tesla… I’m not going to get much input when compared to Elon. These celebrities might be good for giving hockey a higher profile…. but they won’t affect the on ice product… and DEFINITELY won’t be going up against Bettman.

  15. Like the idea of snoop, but foresee too much drama in the CTC….

Honestly a W not that Reynolds is bad at all but I think snoops ideas are great for the league

  17. He’s shown at Wrexham that he’s a wonderful owner. Has invested a lot into a struggling club and still lets the supporters have a huge say in how the club is run.
