  1. Thanks Canes from a Rangers fan.. What made it classic is that an ex. Ranger scored the winner… 😂 😂 😂

  2. prescient point here about the devils learning how to win.

they’ll be back. and they will not be a fun team to face the next couple years. canes have been here running a half decade at this point. they are kinda the battle tested ones. they’ve seen what it takes to win this time of year.

really proud of the way this canes team has come together even with all the injuries. hope they can take it all the way.

  3. I'm just relieved we ended it in this one. The Devils are a very good team and, if this series went back to the Rock for game 6, they definitely could have forced a game 7 and won that one

Huge respect for the Devils, especially after this series. Your future is bright, Devils fans. Keep your heads up high

  4. It hurts, but they went way further than I expected at the begin of the season. Now I hope they get Meier signing long term and be back in great shape next year.

  5. I'm having a great time watching this Canes team, don't get me wrong, but it's still baffling how they're doing it. Stefan Noesen is on our first line, Jordan Martinook and Jesper Fast are on our second line, and somebody named MacKenzie McEachern is in the lineup and playing a big role despite being a marginal AHL player for his entire career up until now. Aho and Necas aren't really scoring all that much. But we do have the best 1-6 defense group in recent memory and the goaltending has held up. Maybe it's a boring dump and chase team, but it's the freaking Mona Lisa of boring dump and chase teams.

  6. Congratulations Carolina on the won and the advancing. Im a Devils fan who had fun all season long and it was quite an exciting time. It was a wonderful season to be proud of. And thank you Shannon for all you do for the hockey community!

  7. Huge bruins fan here. I've had Carolina as the favorite since February. I think they're going to do it.

  8. So proud of the Devils, even though this season is over It's awesome that the team has reached every single measure of franchise competence minus winning a cup, but they'll be back for years to come

  9. Siegs screened both goals (well also went off him for the 1st) and took that fatal penalty in OT 🙁

  10. I have no connection to NJ whatsoever but I am sad to see them elminated. it was a lot of fun to see them get this far this year

  11. The devils are on the verge of something special. Carolina started it back in 2019. Hopefully they can make it further this time

  12. Ruff series for NJ, Ruff was out-coached in this series, but has much less experienced players and did get them there in the first place! I can't imagine many Devils fan be disappointed with the coaching overall. Much respect for Carolina and Brind'amour, good luck to y'all!

  13. I was quite confused why so many people though NJ were favored in this, it felt like even before first game that Carolina was going to be the better team but maybe people jumped on the bandwagon because of the NYR victory for NJ. Nevertheless I said Carolina in 6 and they did it faster but quite confusing how onesided the poll was for NJ

  14. Nice if Florida does happen to win, Carolina at least has much better chance of winning them. And for a Finnish NHL fan what.could be better than Carolina advancing… 😂

  15. Lindy Ruff tactically spanked Gerard Gallant into yet another pink slip. I say give him another year, if the Devils regress like the Rangers did then fire him…

  16. I’ve stand by this as a devils fan. But think devils and Carolina share the most politeness /respect between these two teams. Big respect to both communities. 👹🌀

  17. Devils had a good year. How many times does a team win their first time out? I can think of only one, and even that's arguable: the 1991 Pittsburgh Penguins. Arguable because they had been in the playoffs a couple of years before, but Craig Patrick had revamped the team almost completely in those two years so it was almost a different team. They'll probably have at least one more miss before they get at least to the finals.

  18. There's growth for this New Jersey team in net, but I like the fire power. Beating the fraudulent Rangers showed what they're capable of.

Next to Boston, Carolina looked like the strongest, most complete team in the East.

  19. Both teams played a clean series. LETS GO CANES!!!!!! So will the Canes get respect from the TNT/ESPN crews or the other talking heads around the league? Or are we going to hear why the Devils lost? The Canes were the second best team in the NHL all year and do not get the respect that the Leafs or Oilers have gotten!

  20. Can you pronounce Fast correctly . He is Swedish it is pronounced Fass ,but to the game itself was a great game ,but you knew eventually the Canes would get that goal

  21. Hurricanes are a really good team and their balance scoring, strong Defense, strong penalty kill and timely power play are gelling at the right time. Thank you to Tripp Tracy, Shane Willis, Mike Maniscalco, Hanna Yates, and many NHL network personalities for telling the complete story so far on this team. Thank you Shannon for your great work.
