Watch out when this guy gains 20lbs ? He definitely has to work on his skating but I'm sure whoever drafts him will work on that. Some hockey pundits are saying he's the next Guentzel ? Remains to be seen.

I think when he’s trying, I don’t think he’s that bad of a skater. He just needs to widen his stride and use his edges better.

People looking too much into his USNTDP points, they mean nothing hes smart and a great playmaker but he has no edges or defensive games, hes a juiced up Jordan Dumais
Gabe looked great all season, his skating obviously hurt his draft stock but everything else will make him a very valuable player and skating is supposedly one of the easiest things to fix

Great playmaker. Interested to see how he finds time and space at the NHL level to make such plays, as he doesn’t have much separation speed or edge work. Maybe he can adapt to that and use his hockey IQ or work on his skating. Reminds me of Morgan Frost.
Teams that want a more physical player and/or higher end skater will likely pass unless he falls far enough down the board, but I do think his puck handling helps his skating play up somewhat, and he really knows what he's doing as a passer. The two plays starting at 6:54 give me hope that he could at least be a solid/average skater for the pro level at some point.
I'd pass on him in the first half of the first round. Ranking him around 23 or 24 seems pretty fair from what I see in this video, so starting in the late teens/early 20s to consider drafting him would make sense for me.

Looked very good in the gold medal game vs Sweden. I thought he and Moore outshone Leonard and Smith in what arguably was the only real challenge for team USA.

reminds me a lot of robertson. good at a lot of things but the skating is iffy. would be a great player if hes centered by a pacey and skilled center like jack hughes
