Doing a series on all 32 teams on the last 10 years of the Playoffs. Let me know if there are any errors, or if there are additional stats you think should be included. The 2020 qualifying round was purposefully left out.

    Similar posts available on r/leafs, r/predators, r/habs, r/penguins, r/SanJoseSharks, r/hawks, r/losangeleskings, r/newyorkislanders, r/stlouisblues, r/caps, r/rangers, r/devils, r/Bruins and r/ColoradoAvalanche. I did post one to r/sabres, but it was removed due to it being “low effort”.

P.S. You guys have probably a top 3 logo in my book.

This is what mediocrity looks like. By mediocrity I mean not wanting to suck completely for a season or two for better draft picks.

I often wonder if the pressure to win that fans and local media put on teams helps. It’s been almost 15 years since the Yankees won the WS. Does the pressure of their fans and the press help them be better? It’s been 56 years since the Leafs won the cup. Does the pressure that fans and seemingly all of Canada’s media put on them help to break the drought? Would the Red Sox or Cubs have won sooner if their fans had been less critical and thirsty? I think southern teams (Bolts, Canes, Panthers, Stars, etc.) have it easier because their fans just care less. It’s not a part of their identity like it is here and in Canada (side note: it’s been 30 years since a Canadian team has won the cup). There’s just less pressure in non-hockey They can just play the game without the pressure of lifting a curse. One fewer reason to grip your stick too tight.

No offense to the OP (because you’re not the only one who posts stuff like this; a thousand memes like it as soon as a MN team loses in playoffs), but I fucking hate graphics like this. They’re so “look at how pathetic our team is!” and “feel sorry for us!” I’m sick of that mentality. To actually win in this market we’ll either need to get the most mentally strong GMs, coaches, and players on the planet, who are impervious to the years and years of shit we throw on them every season, or we have to let the pressure out of the tires. We’ll be waiting a long time for the former, but we do have the option of working on the latter.

Who cares what happened last year? And especially who cares what happened the last 30+ years of MN sports? We really shouldn’t, unless we want to wear “woe is me!” as something to be proud of. Let’s not let it affect the players and coaches of this year. And how we do that is like Fleury said when asked about how this team can get past the first round, “Stop talking about it.”
