Dude must be amped for the Jets @ Devils games in the future

  2. Kornja81

He and his agent are being so fucking difficult. Bratt can go away at this point 🤷‍♂️

  3. weaver787

Maybe he thinks his negotiating position is weaker due to his completely invisible playoff performance. Like I swear I barely even noticed he was on the ice most of the time.

Compare that to McLoeds unbelievable playoff performance

  4. ScrewOff_

    Sounds like a bridge.

    A bridge to UFA.

I’d be fine moving him early and opening up an opportunity for Holtz or Clarke to get the playing time they need. Meier shouldnt be playing 3rd line.

Someone’s waiting to see how much the salary cap increases after this offseason.

  6. BubbaCrosby

The worst, dumbest fans are going to be very upset

  7. Johnborkowski

Man, people are reading way into this. He is literally saying he wants to stay. I say who cares if it isn’t long term? He could hit UFA after this deal and still re-sign. Ya never know!

  8. Sink__Bike__Run

I hope this quote is not Bratt’s Parise moment lol

  9. He knows he lost millions and all his leverage with that disappearing act in the playoffs.

  10. Zestyclose_Estate248

I think he looked better the last game tbh. He was making more efforts to drive to the net and shooting.

To me if we can lock him down long term now when his value is a little less than it was after his great start I would go for it definitely.

He’s a driven player and he’s likely going to improve…especially in the playoffs. I think its way to quick to write him off.

But his agent is fucking annoying

  11. People that don’t want to resign Bratt or think we should trade him are out of their goddamn minds. You don’t judge a player by 12 of 13 playoff games he’s played in his entire career. I swear this sub and it’s recency bias is insane sometimes.

  12. Javi1192

Can we realistically sign Bratt and Meier to large contracts without tanking the rest of the lineup?

  13. Mr7three2

Jespers Agent- “no. I don’t think I will”

  14. A lot of small brain behavior in these comments lol

  15. MartysBetter29

Good for him. Id be happy to have him back. I know some of you are thinking hes alluding to a bridge deal and I think that overthinking the quote but tbh that would be best case scenario.

  16. MrMooMoo91

Thank fuck. Bratt is rightfully in the hot seat, despite making some good passes that didn’t get finished, but I believe in this dude.

He is a very smart player, he will grow from this. If he wants 3-4 year deal, I’d say ok 2 more runs with Bratt and we’ll see where we are. Then 2 more years to move him.

  17. beastboy4246

Great news. Bratt we want you to stay he’s part of the core 5 we have (Nico Jack Bratt Timo and Mercer)

Totally trust Fitz to make it happen

  18. MountainBean3479

Considering his agent I cannot imagine he made this statement without running it by his agent so this feels very positive to me . It’s just as much a signal to the org as to how they plan to approach negotiations moving forward this year

  19. Batfleck666

I think it would be absurd to move on from a 24 yr old that’s put up back to back 70+ point season based on a span of 12 playoff games.

  20. rlewis27

Zach Parise said the same thing similar after 2012. I’m not setting myself up for disappointment this time.

  21. nerfherderparadise

Fitzy about to get us that ” total post season ghost” discount on bratter

  22. gothenburgpig

No, the Parise situation still hurts. I don’t believe until the ink is dry.

  23. Willoughby3

What have you done for me lately really applies here.

  24. jvalente80

If he can figure out how to skate as fast as he does without the puck with the puck he’s gonna be dangerous. That’s my big thing watching him out skate the puck on his own stick

  25. This may be huge recency bias…….

But someone tell me Bratt isnt over rated

  26. Amphoric

I’d like to sign Bratt for the right price, but I honestly believe 7 would be fair at most. If not, I would def trade him if possible for a Goalie or a Nylander-type player. Hell, even Wilson would’ve been a nice add.

Listen, I know he has a lot of points/goals, but many of them were literally handed to him on a silver platter. You guys saw in the playoffs when he had to fend for himself; he couldn’t get anything going. That worries me.

Other players were playing hard, using their bodies. He didn’t even want to block shots or go after a dump-in. He would give up if someone bigger was in front.

Who would you guys trade Bratt for if you had to? Let’s say he doesn’t want to sign and time is short? I think if he doesn’t sign in the next month or so, I’d look into it to avoid him leaving for nothing.

  27. corso923

I hope so, I need my jersey purchases to stop being the kiss of death.

  28. Electronic_Comb_3501

I’m good going to 6.5 per. Nothing more.

  29. HailChiefJoe

Good, I’d like to see you in the playoffs too.

  30. Sauronsindexfinger

He’s proven to be a great regular season player. That affects his price positively. He is proven even though only in a limited amount of time that he doesn’t have a “next level” for the playoffs. Maybe that changes. Maybe it doesn’t. But I don’t think Fitz can afford to plug holes (cough goalie cough) by paying guys based on what they MIGHT do.
