If MLS can figure it out why can’t the NHL

I would gladly pay $99 a season for every game with no blackouts…instead I have to deal with sailing the high seas almost every game…

No kidding…it shouldn’t be this hard to follow your local team.

I’m sure the contracts around the broadcasting rights make this hard to do. Maybe if Bally RSNs go under they’ll do something like this but I’m sure the NHL is going to go after whatever makes them the most money.

MLS actually knows how to market and grow their game, unlike the NHL.

Well this is done through Apple and I don’t think MLS has the same baggage with Bally the NHL, NBA, and MLB have.

Bally sports north offers a streaming service that’s 20$ a month. I did that and have Hulu live/ESPN plus/Disney bundle and didn’t miss a game. Watched the Bally app on Apple TV

  6. Or, learn from the NFL. In the 80’s and early 90’s they would blackout games in local markets unless they were a complete sell out. What they have since figured out though is that if you let people watch the games, and make it look fun in the stadium, you build a fan base.

Especially with hockey or baseball, there are so many games per year, it would help to let your fans stay engaged even if they aren’t at the stadium.

Because MLS doesn’t have decades of legacy contracts with networks that conflicted with them offering this service.

I have an ESPN+ subscription and even when I meet the requirements to stream a Wild game it won’t even load half the time. High sea streams function better than the official streams.
