I know it’s gross now looking back as an adult, but as a kid who grew up at the rink and having to spend my summers there day in/out, me and my bestie would play in the Zamboni dump out back. Middle of summer scorching heat. To us kids it was fun 😹❄️⛄️

You could add a nut to the mirror side to use as a lock nut. It's reverse what you'd want it to be for maximum versatility, but might be more secure than the rubber washer.
