  1. Still a bit upset that the isles got Räty with the pick we gave up in the Leddy trade. What we he doing at 53?

  2. 2 million per year for a guy that does 30 to 40 points per year on a team like the red wings is excellent

  3. Another good deal, it would have been easy to over pay/term Erne. To anyone who thinks this isn't a good deal I'd ask "what would Kenny have given him"?? It'll be interesting to see what Hronek gets ….

  4. I felt like Erne was a late bloomer when the Wings got him in 2019, and now it appears as though he may be realizing his potential. Great job Stevie, now get that Hronek deal done. A nice 3y x 4.5m seems likely to me.

  5. It's as if the Eastern time zone is for business man grownups and pacific is for weird hippies that enjoy life and good weather.

  6. Can't wait until the hockey season begins! All the moves Steve has made has been exciting and will make us more competitive! Keep it up Steve

  7. Very good signing… probably paid a few 100k more than value demands in order to him to sign Short term..but very good move

  8. Whats your thoughts about Cossa signing his ELC already? Which, indicates he's not going back to the Oil Kings. Think he has a shot to steal the job from Greiss?

  9. So now there is Hronek and Smith to sign with about 18-19 mil in cap space left. Hronek @ 4-5 mil and Smith @ 1.2-1.5 mil and there is still 12-13 mil left over. Nice budget management. Next year, the big name free agent is acquired.

  10. I'm really liking what I'm seeing here from Yzerman. You can say that roster on Tampa wasn't without him, but Steve was the one who put those building blocks into place. Now he's doing it slowly again with the Red Wings. Stevie Y to the rescue!

  11. Not sure what type of leverage smith has in RFA. He’s a 13th forward at best who played most of the year in Grand Rapids. 2 years 2 million tops is what I expect. I say lock up Hronek 3-12.75

  12. A very reasonable deal. Just about the time the draft picks start to blossom, Erne can be a decision based on performance. Hronek… I'd like to see this one come in a 3.5M or so. 3 yrs would be max. Smith 1.2M 3 yrs. Smith has yet to show me he is going to be a player. That leaves plenty of cap space to make future deals and get picks as part of deals you have no players in.

  13. Short contracts make sense. Holland signed alot of long term contracts: Helm, Abdulkater, etc.
