As someone who lives in Chicago (grew up in Columbus) – Chicago fans are weak, they aren’t half the die-hard fans I’ve seen in Columbus, sure they have history and they have cups and that’s the only time the fans show up, when things are ‘good’ – but the reason they sold so many tickets the night they won the lottery was because they had SOOOO many seats available. Bedard going to the Ducks or to CBJ would have been tremendously better for the NHL, and growing the game of hockey overall.

Hooah. Screw Chelios, CBJ fans pack the building when we’re awful and Chicago “fans” don’t even watch half the time. I spot Chicago “fans” all the time and the last time they watched a single hockey game was when Chicago won the cup last. Small market teams will always catch the brunt of this nonsense but the fact of the matter is as simple as this, if the fans are as die hard as they are for a losing team, imagine how it’s gonna be when we raise the cup. I may be grey and old by that time, but it’ll happen for us eventually and it’ll be that much sweeter when it does, because of the hardship and not being a spoiled fan based gifted a generational talent a couple months after losing one, not to mention the SA allegations. Chicago is a dumpster fire and them getting Bedard solves nothing and it sure as hell does nothing to grow hockey. It’s just a super great player on a crappy team that’s always had super great players. Bedard in Columbus would’ve changed the sport in the region, in Chicago it’s meaningless.

Just had a thought, we shouldn’t be mad about Chicago getting Bedard. We’ll just trade the ghost of Anisimov for him in a year or two. Getting 1OA doesn’t fix the worst FO in hockey haha

The chip on our shoulder will only get bigger. Let them talk. It’ll be twice as sweet to shut them up when our time comes.
