1st I’m sure Bunting is headed out of Toronto. His game went south and he never recovered. He was always a threat on the ice until he started getting caught up in side show antics.
He is a leaf but do not re sign unless a super low contract. Not a finisher like hyman. Team needs finishers., No show in many playoff series in a few years,

You need players like Bunts on a competitive team, hard working, no fear, and there to stir trouble for the enemy. The elbow suspension was over blown because it was 100% non malicious. What happened to Sam Bennett and his criminal-like neck grabbing head takedown on Knies? Nothing. How about Tkachuk deliberate charging elbow to Knies face? Nothing (minor penalties are a joke). Don't get me started on NHL officials. What is important here is Bunts continues to be an inspiration and a great asset for the Leafs. 63pts in 2022 and 49pts in 2023 (ranked 5th on the team) . No question about it, Leafs would be out of their mind not to give this man a contract and a raise, 100%. GG Bunts, keep up the great work.

I think it would be a huge sign of commitment to his team/core and hometown fans to negotiate for a reasonable extension. Bunting has been amazing for us at times, and seems to have a positive impact on the locker room more generally.
"they want to win"…. no doubt, but are they willing to do what it takes to win? So far, nope.

I can tell the top players lead by example. They don't score any goals and most of the team doesn't either.
