The Former Oiler who could be next Edmonton Oilers GM

Steve Staios is highly regarded by many as an up-and-coming GM, and today on the DFO Rundown podcast my co-host Frank Seravalli outlined he can see Ken Holland holding the President of Hockey Operations while Staios has the GM title.

  1. Not crazy about a rookie managing the team……there’s too many”rookies” involved with Oilers already.

  2. Ken Holland has got this team to where it is. I would like to see him see it through. Tough one.

  3. I loved Steve Staios as a player and i think he will be a good GM one day but he is inexperienced at the NHL level. The Oilers are going to have to make some trades to win a cup because this current roster is not going to cut it. Is an inexperienced GM really the right option to be in charge of surrounding McDavid & Draisaitl with the right personnel? McDavid has 3 more years to win a cup with Edmonton, if he doesn't win a cup – he is leaving and we all know it. I just think our GM is going to have to be a wizard and work some magic to make a cup a reality. I don't think an inexperienced GM is going to be the one to do it.

  4. Holy f**k. This can't be for real. 🤣 This team was destroyed by the entire notion of bringing in "former oilers" to manage it.

If this garbage has any semblance of truth to it, this team deserves what's coming to it. LMFAO I can't take this seriously.
