[Corey Sznajder] The story behind the numbers of Carolina-New Jersey: Carolina finally flipping the switch, rush offense being at a premium, Carolina jumping on New Jersey’s disorganized forecheck, Jaccob Slavin dominating, and the Jordan Staal matchup.

It doesn’t seem like an overly complicated story to me. They’re a good team and they played well against our team that didn’t play so well. Rod played the matchups well and our studs couldn’t stud their way out of it. Middling goaltending. Meh. It’s fine. We’ll be back and we’ll probably see this matchup more than once over the next several postseasons.

Slavin killed us. They got themselves a good one.
