I think the habs are only a few pieces away from being a great team , Hutson and Mailloux are coming up but Harris isn’t getting traded this year when he’s playing 18 to 20 mins a game at only 1.3 mil a year, sure this gives him value but the habs would never get the return Harris is worth , so that would be a bad trade for anyone and not worth making as we can’t assume all our young defensemen will have as great of a season in 2024 as they did in 2023 . The habs needs physical and gritty players to defend all of the habs young players so Arber Xhekaj doesn’t his talent fighting when he’s more useful when he’s playing
The perfect trade partner? To me it would be the flyers, they have 3 players that wouldn’t cost much but would make the habs a much better team , the players I’m talking about? Deslauriers , Lemieux and hart
I would also overpay so the flyers would take bad contracts as they’re only starting their rebuilt , that’s the only way I would include Harris in a trade , is if it allow the habs to get rid of a bad contract so

I think this would be great for both teams , the habs have too many contracts and they’re running out of room in the limit on contracts allowed by a pro team and still Hutson, Mailloux, engstrom, nurmi , Davidson, Roy , kidney and a shit load of prospects are still haven’t signed and almost done their junior career
The habs rebuilt is done , 34 picks over the last 3 years and lot of those guys are maturing faster than expected , drafting too often is almost as bad as not drafting enough , it leads to a rushed and bad evaluation of some prospects
Can not see the point of trading for Dubois when we can get him for nothing next year. The Habs don’t have a need for him this coming season,besides,it’s not like he’s a 90+ point player. He has yet to break 70. Perhaps,he’s not the player he’s been made out to be. If it’s in the cards to get him—wait for him to be available without having to trade for him.
I don’t think Dubois is worth any trade. If he’s available at a fair price when he’s UFA then yeah. But Harris is worth more to the Habs. Trading up in the draft for him + Florida pick would be better.

I don’t think Jordan Harris is the one to be traded like Jordan Harris is actually a rare player he’s a really good Modern Defensive defender in the NHL and it’s actually hard to find a modern one these days because there so new like the old ones are in the NHL but there are few Modern Defensive defenders in the NHL and Jordan Harris is one of them he’s the type of player you want going into the playoffs and he can play both sides so no I wouldn’t move him especially for PLD and I wouldn’t be trading Justin Baron either the only players I would be okay with moving to the jets for PLD would be Riley Kidney, Jayden Struble and possibly Jesse Ylonen I would consider Ylonen because in my opinion Emil Heineman is a better version of Ylonen and we have other players coming up better then Ylonen I really believe he doesn’t have a spot long term with Montreal i believe Heineman, Joshua Roy, Mesar are all ahead of Ylonen so ya that’s what I would do but we shouldn’t be giving up much for PLD and we should maybe even wait until he’s a free agent if PLD won’t take a hometown discount like 6.5-7 million over 7 years then I would stay away from him anything over 7 million STAY AWAY!!
You cant acquire PLD without sendung money the other way. You have to package Dvorak, Harris and a Farrell or kidney. Id only give a 1st with Dvorak and Harris if they take Hoffman.
The other thing is that if we draft a Centerman we dont need Dubois. The only way we go after him is if we draft mitchkov, Benson or leonard. And you only take one of them if Smith isnt available. So the trade for dubois will happen or not right after the 5th pick
Why would they do that? Who cares about P-L-D and the jets. If he wants to come as a FA let him. If not trade away contracts. Armia, Dvorak, Hoffman… Jets are screwed.

Dubois, like him as a player, but doesn’t he have some head issues? Go for Lafrenaire instead.
