  1. Here’s an analogy for you. The leafs are like a transportation company that spends half their fleet budget on four Lamborghini’s and the rest on heavy capacity trucks. Do well throughout most of the year, fast and slick and generally deliver results on time. Then Christmas hits, intensity of deliveries triples, and they just don’t have the capacity to meet the demands of the heavy holiday season. Simply a business model that does not work at the most crucial time of year.

  2. Nice thought. If you’re LA would you make that trade? I wouldn’t. Anyway moot point, JT not waiving his no trade.

  3. JT wasn't the problem, Keefe, holl, brodie were terrible and marner not showing up was the problem

  4. They are not going anywhere until you get a new coach. You can see the game like I am seeing it. Why do the teams in the playoffs force the first line to dump the puck in.?
Why did the first line not get goals as the playoffs got longer?
Why did the same thing happen to the first line in the playoffs for the last few years as the games were getting nearing 7games played they could not score. Played the seventh game against Florida their seventh game and loosing lost their 8th and 9th and scored 2goals in the tenth and eleventh. What is obviously the reason why.
It's because of the amount of time spent on dumping the puck in and having to go in and physically take a beating in the act of trying to come up with the puck and then having to skate the whole length back to defend and trying to catch the fast easy way Florida broke up the ice time and time again.

  5. JT for Doughty is a great swap for TOR. Toronto finally gets a #1D, heart, determination and leadership

  6. The team NEEDS a number 1 forward with a Wendal Clark personality a number 1 defenseman and a number 1 goalie. It's not rocket science.

  7. My thought from outside, a new fan. Change out the coach ! Toronto needs a new look. Get a great defense player….trade anyone that wants to go, that player brings other fence setters down…look close at the goalie players. Happy times next season 👍🏻

  8. Another reason the leafs won't win a cup for a long time. These guys keep talking leafs. They are out…. how about talk about round 3? There is a reason Florida is playing so loose. If they win no one cares. If they lose no ones cares and the media sure as hell wouldn't spend a week talking about them once kicked out.

  9. Keefe couldn't solve Florida's forecheck.
Eat some of Tavares contract and trade him. NMC doesn't mean squat when a GM tells a player he's not in the team's future. NMC get thrown out the window when that happens.

  10. THE CORE SHOULD THE CORE SHOULD STAY. Why? When we look back at the Leafs in 15-20, do you want to ask yourself…"Who was on that team?" If you have no loyalty to your players and a constant revolving door when things do not work out you wind up with NO PLAYER who will ever identify as a Leaf. You have a history of rentals. Players who join the team for 1-3 seasons and are gone. I do not want that. Dave Keon was kept 8 years after 1967. Sittler was there a decade with no cup. But since the 1970's the Leafs keep trading players whereas other teams keep players so the team has some kind of identity. These are good players. I want them to stay regardless. I want THEM to win as Leafs as opposed to an army of rentals who have NO LOYALTY to the Toronto Maple Leafs. Matthews, Nylander and Marner have invested time here. That is worth something. Winning a cup is not easy. 1 of 32 teams can do it. Only 8 teams of 32 make the final 8. They Leafs accomplished this year what most of the teams did not.

  11. I still believe we had a chance to send a strong, clear message to Florida after Bennett took out Knies. Simmons should have dressed and gone after Bennett to even the score! Or better yet where was Schenn? Someone needed to respond and by not responding Florida was free to physically take over.

  12. Face it, Dubas is the architect of this failure. They talk about moves only over the last year or two when you need to go back to Dubas’s very first move, signing Tavares in 2018. At the time the Leafs were the 3rd highest scoring team in the NHL with Mathews and Kadri as 1 & 2 centres. Then the fall of 2018 Dubas’s second boo boo was not signing a true # 1 D man when he had the chance. Dubas’s idea was a fast band of Smurfs could compete for and win a Cup. He wasted 2 years before he realized that Smurfs don’t win Cups. Say what you want about Tavares but he’s Not the problem, the contract that Dubas gave him is. Tavares has a no move and that’s his right. Trying to move him for Dowdy is ridiculous. That guys also on the downside because of the minutes he’s played. Dubas also traded Mason Marchment for Dennis Malgin ffs. He was then waived, went to Europe came back and was waived again. Meanwhile Marchemnet signed in Dallas for $4.5 X 4 and is in the West Final. All this and more has happened prior to the last two years that these jokers are talking about. Then he traded for a goalie who played 47 games in 2 years for the Sens. Get it yet? It’s Dubas.

  13. Double digit club was a joke. Mathew’s 0 goals in his first second round series as a goal scorer, let that sink in. 😂

  14. Calling anyone but Morgan Rielly the captain if JT wasn't is proof that this was just babble.

And no way Doughty is traded with how good he was in the playoffs
