These guys did great Kane with the savage injury and still out there doing what he does, Skinner one hell of a rookie year. The Oilers have what it takes and you can see it in thier eyes next year is going to be amazing
I think we were our own downfall ultimately. Not only that but the refs were heavily favouring Vegas, not sure if it was retaliation against the physicality we were dishing, or if it was due to bets that ppl made against the Oilers. We will never know the truth behind that, but what I do know is that we were the downfall of our own team. Next year I’m definitely expecting us to go the whole way using the mistakes of this series as fuel.
Dustin Schwartz track record on this team have been horrific. I cant believe he is still a goalie coach. Vegas has Sean Burke who made Dubnyk look like a stud. Thompson, Hill and Brossoit all looked pretty good
Fagmenton is pathetic & these bums will never win anything, they will keep failing year after year. They thought they could snag a cup this year with the Avs & Bruins eliminated, but NOPE lol. Chokers. They will not sniff the playoffs moving forward.

Coach Jay is going to have to implement a much more defensive style of play. They give up way way too many inside shots. You watch the top teams right now. It’s almost impossible to get a shot on net from inside the house. This will require much more attention to details from every single player. Their goal next season should be to hold the line to 3 goals against every game. This will require a sacrifice of personal stats to achieve. Need a star goalie, need another Eckholm type d-man. I would trade Yamm, Derek Ryan, Nurse and even consider trading Nuge and Kane if you can get anything for him at this point. And I love Nuge but you can’t disappear come playoffs. Kane ghosted and Nuge ghosted. Kane is having kids and I don’t think he has ability to focus on family and hockey to the degree we need him to be focused.

All of this “good job, good season” rhetoric is ridiculous. This team should have made the finals. The opportunity they had this year was enormous. The fact that we have to talk about “details” and “breakdowns” shows that it was a choice. They chose to allow themselves to play with lapses. From game one next year they need to make the right choice. Detail is paramount.

Oilers are becoming cup contender. we’ve made playoffs 3 straight since not having playoffs in darkest days, oilers will always come back to playoffs.

I REALLY thought Evander Kane would contribute big time in the playoffs. Disappointing.
Everyone raggin on yamo but kane, outside of stupid penaltys contributed almost nothing. Nuge and hymen were underwhelming aswell.
