Dubas wants out but doesn't want to quit. The core also needs to be modified in someway and he doesn't want to be the GM to do it
As a Calgary Flames fan we wouldn’t of made the trade to Florida but he wanted out. I would of traded Johnny the year before at the trade deadline.
Crybaby Dubas. He has been there for years. Now suddenly he has this people are out to get me and my family act.
Simmons is a moron. He talks trade now for better players, but there was a better player for cheaper available to Dubas in the fall of 2018 and he didn’t pull the trigger and 5 years later the Leafs D still sucks. Dubas is the first guy that should go because he’s made mistakes starting with his first move of signing Tavares in 2018 when the Leafs were the 3rd highest scoring team in the NHL and Mathews and Kadri were numbers 1 & 2 at centre.
Easy moves to make: Jordan Greenway, Miles Wood, Max Jones, Ryan Graves, Lafreniere, Othmann, Braden Schneider in.
Players out: Nylander, Bunting, Brodie, Holl, Liljegren, Kerfoot
Liljegren, Steeves and Niemela for Greenway and 13th in 2023 (draft Matthew Wood as your 1C or 2C; if 1C move Matthews to the wing on the top line).
Nylander, Amirov, Tverberg, Kral to NY for Othmann, Lafreniere, Braden Schneider and 23rd in 2023 (draft Oliver Bonk or Quentin Musty or Daniil But).
Kerfoot, Holl and Zohorna for Miles Wood and Ryan Graves
Bunting to Anaheim for Max Jones
If Matthews goes to LA I want Danault, Brandt Clarke, Iafallo or Kempe.
You promote Timmins full time with Hoefenmayer knocking on the door too, promote SDA and Minten at centre.

The players have been falling short, no question. I witnessed a lot of instances in which I would not continue to invest in Mitch, and in particular Willie. However, not enough emphasis is being placed on how these players are being used and the strategies employed. That’s a massive factor in the failures of the franchise.
What the situation is, is that Shanahan ain't moving or Keefe and if Dubas ain't able to juggle his life we should give him a lap of absence and find a nail for the consecutive role/position.

I find it odd that shanahan never makes himself available to the media. what does he do anyway? Keefe has no authority over his players. He is not a "leader" – as for the core.. I wouldn't blow it up. I would make some moves to the D and find a true #1 keeper

If a GM hired good scouts and assistant manager, he doesn’t have to travel too much to see his AHL players perform. Also, most Leafs road games are telecasted. Delegate is a trait of an effective manager.
Leafs just need to play in the regular season. Forget about playoffs.
