  1. On bigger ice serfaces you have more time to see how the play is unfolding , on smaller ice the play unfolds faster hence crowded , some europeans cannot play this way , it takes time to adjust your vision of the game Juraj is young and needs time to view the game at an other level more so studying it away from on ice , in my view he needs time away and on the ice this year rather than burn him up with high expectations

  2. Why is Burrows still there and running the power play? It has been beyond awfull since he has been there.

  3. I have been saying this all along. Slafkovsky needed to start the season in Laval to get acclimated to the NHL and the smaller ice surface. He's not there right now.

  4. Being a big Suzuki fan, I believe he has 5 points in 4 games…2 goals and 3 Assists. That said, another great podcast Coach…thanks for all the work you do in keeping the channel excellent.

  5. Nice video coach, and for your information I’ll be going to the Ottawa senators game vs Washington capitals tomorrow so maybe you can do a play by play for that, thanks!

  6. Shane Right would have been ready to kill it, but glad he isn't waisting his good years in Montreal waistland

  7. Hi Coach, Monahan was on the ice for all 3 Montreal goals against Penguins. Before that, three games, so a sample size warning is in effect, but so far, the combination of Kirby Dach and Sean Monahan up front was putting up some incredible underlying numbers. With the two of them on the ice at five-on-five, the Canadiens have controlled nearly 70 percent of the shot attempts, 63.3 percent of the shots on goal and 73.3 percent of the expected goals.

  8. It’s worth mentioning that Slafkovsky is one of the few Montreal Canadiens wingers that has posted positive underlying numbers. Among left wings, Juraj is first overall in the team when it comes to shot control, posting a 52 percent share of the shots during his shifts.

  9. Juraj is also one of four Montreal Canadiens players that currently has a positive expected goals share (xGF%). The numbers suggest that while he hasn’t yet scored a point, Slafkovsky is playing well above expectations given his age and experience. Plus the fact he has been playing with huff & puff Hoffman or earlier with give-a-puck-away Gallagher!

  10. I do realize since rookie-camp that he was ear marked for Laval. Slafkovsky has not emerged as an 18 yr old dominant physical presence as yet, but he has used his wingspan to shut down scoring chances and passing lanes in the defensive zone. He’s also done a fairly good job using his body to protect the puck in the offensive zone. Cheers

  11. Coach, who is hot and who is cold. First, COLD, watching three veteran forwards going through motions, just being there for the ride. I’m referring to Jonathan Drouin, Mike Hoffman and Evgenii Dadonov. Oh they will show flashes, make one pass in 15 minutes of ice time but their effort goes from inconsistent to outright laziness. Together, they tie up about $15 million of (dead) cap space.

  12. Who is HOT. For the first 3 games the combination of Monahan and Dach. On defence Guhle & Savard. My highest gratitude and appreciation to the 4 Rookie Dmen. Amazing how well they have performed after being dropped into the frying pan. Thank you Coach

  13. Hi Coach, terrific video again. Love the idea of Harris quarterbacking the power play. Terrific passer and vision.
