  1. Relying on a powerplay and 2 players for all of your production. And. Btw, Nurse is not as good as that horrible contract would suggest. He is brutal.

  2. You need 3 things to win a Stanley Cup: endurance (no serious injuries), good refereeing, and outstanding goaltending. Vegas’ goalie played lights out and Skinner… didn’t…

  3. Where have te Maple leafs been since 1968 this commentary coming from some no it all Ontario loser

  4. i think we should rename the Cup , something more American ? Coors Light Cup ,or The Sam Adams Cupp

  5. Its pretty simple why they failed. Woodcroft has no confidence in his goaltenders. You cant keep starting, then pulling, a rookie goalie every single game. Its poor coaching, plain and simple.

  6. Hey Edmonton, i'll trade you Matthews for Draisaitle, and Tullio and 2025 1st rd'r id say Mc D but i know you won t go for it..whatya say?

  7. Oh my God no. There are no failures in this day and age. Everyone is a winner Right? Give everyone a trophy and take them for ice cream.

  8. It’s the same problem as the last few years, defence and goal keeping are bad. They also need more depth in their offence. Gone are the days where a cup can be won with just a couple of studs.

  9. Its not that complicated, the better team won. The Oil clearly need another strong defense for the right side and to make a move on a true #1 goaltender or at the very least, proper coaching for them. Its tough to be the best when you're great at offense and mediocre in your own end.

  10. everyone calling for campbell is a fool, hes TRASH and he proved it when they pulled skinner, skinner is a very good goalie and will only get better. the D was trash all series

  11. If McDavid won the Cup, he might actually crack a smile. We can't have that!

  12. Campbell should have had the start. I said before the game that if the Oilers start Skinner, they deserve to lose the series. I thought they would have at least pushed it to 7 games though…

  13. The team with the best PLAYERS lost to the players on the best TEAM.

  14. Vegas is a pretty loaded team. I still don`t like that the league gave Pietrangelo only 1 game. That`s a joke, and it did break Draisaitls playoff run.
Overall the Oilers have not played defense well enough, and that`s also due to their superstars. They are just not very good in their own end.
Also some of their core players were basically no factors in the playoffs. RNH had 1 goal in 12 games and was -6 (his assists don`t count that much as they are from the PP). Kane had 5 points and -3. Yamamoto had 1g 3a and -7.
The Oilers were again a one line team.
It is a setback for sure, but it don`t believe there would have been any difference if Campbell had started – his season was just to wobbly.

  15. Oilers goalies submarines the team. Too many goals that should her been stopped. They need someone more than a backup goalie.

  16. Scam calls against them didn’t help. Some of the players have to start calling the shit officiating out.

  17. You need a Top Goalie to win the Cup… It doesn‘t matter in you have the 2 best players in the League

  18. Not a word on what should have been a 5 minute major with high stick. Also 30 years without canadian win.

  19. Bad Coaching.
Vegas had Skinner's Number. He LOST Games 3, 5 and 6. After Game 3, should have played Campbell to START.
WHY the F I_I CK did you start Skinner in Game 6? You should have learned after GAME 3. If not Game 5 SLAPPED you in the Face.
A PLAYOFF COACH makes the HARD DECISIONS and would have PULLED their STAR Goalie and REPLACED HIM.
After the ABYSMAL GOALTENDING, and Bad Coaching, the DEFENCE is also SUSPECT.

  20. Right. I got ripped off on a mind blowing level. And it doesn't help to bitch about it. I'm not accepting a sloppy consolation. I'm just going without. Good talk.

  21. Connor McDavid has played 9 seasons with the Oilers and is no closer to hoisting the Stanley Cup over his head.

  22. The formula is simple, you can win with mid defense and a good goalie or a good defense and a mid goalie, but you can't win when both defense and goalie are mid! Look at the final 4 teams they either have a good defense or a good goalie or both

  23. maybe a little more team play from defense transition to offense; and maybe neutral zone defense to transition quicker to offense zone

  24. The Edmonton Oilers are not a complete failure. McDavid and Leon Driastail is not a complete failure. You had a rookie goalie in the playoffs with no winning experience in the playoffs. You need an offensive defenseman like Erik Karlsson who’s also great defensively. The defense is not good. You need more role players. The Oilers will be back at again. It’s disappointing yes but the entire playoff system is a joke as is the officiating. McDavid had an amazing year. Check that an incredible year world class player and dominating. Eichel is not what he was drafted to be. He is freeloader who joined a Vegas franchise with winning experience and had been to the cup finals before. The issue here is Gary two face Buttman who is selling out hockey a Canadian sport to the USA who couldn’t give a rats ass. Too much expansion in markets like Vegas and Seattle who are not hockey towns- aka Arizona… he was fortunate Florida paned out but this bozo of a commissioner can’t even market the game correctly nor market the face of the NHL in McDavid. McDavid and the Oilers should be in the finals not these fairy tale teams. It’s a joke. Officiating is the worst. Plus signing your soul to Disney owned company in ESPN was a bigger mistake. Time for Buttman to get the can

  25. As we see this year, the ultimate question in sorry is whether skill dominates hard work. The answer is no, it's the NHL they're all skillful players but look at the final 4, all hard working teams with skill. Not saying Edmonton don't have hard workers but they're 2 best players, the best in the generation and a number 2 who is better than nearly every other player in the league work hard. It felt like the other players relied on them and just wanted to be tough, no play tough, but be tough. Vegas just played hard and won as a team, when the top 2 weren't on the ice for Edmonton it didn't feel like there was a risk- Nugent-Hopkins had a bad playoff, but no worse than Robertson for Dallas, he just didn't have the depth of ability without the oilers just being aggressive. Play the oilers, stop the to 2 and you win

  26. Nurse wearing an A is absolutely disgusting seeing as he fucked them a dozen times. Do a focus video on him.

  27. So many pundits said – I don't know any team that can beat Edmonton… How'd that work out?

  28. The Oil like Winnipeg were just outplayed, Vegas deserves the win. Vegas one most of the corner scrums and their fore checking was awesome

  29. If you want to win a Stanley Cup, you have to have a top 6 goalie…or a solid goalie on a hot streak…

  30. McDavid!! what a waste of talent, I hope he goes where he can win a Cup. Leave the Oilers where they think its still Grezsky era.

  31. This was a very good hockey club, I was hoping for them to advance, being a Ranger fan I have my own problems, don’t be so hard on the boys, it takes a lot of different things to hoist that Cup and lick is a big part of it, and a Goalie

  32. MacDavid talent is being wasted… by the time his contract ends he is worn out and will get paid less to re-sign. he should ask to go to a US team next season if he wants to win a cup.
