Alex Trinca previously worked for the Pittsburgh Penguins as their conditioning coach for about 7 seasons.

Sounds like some more cleaning of house from Rutherford/Allvin. Interesting the man he is replacing has been with the organization for 14 years though has only been in the Director position for 4 years – looks like he’s been our main Sports scientist for that period of time, so you come to wonder if maybe things like the various mishandled injury issues may have been under his watch? Don’t know really, who’s responsible for what in that whole scheme of things is a big question mark if you ask me.

Is our FO/coaching staff almost entirely the late 10s Penguins now? Yes

However those Penguins did win back to back cups so I’m not like mad about that

This is all smoke and mirrors. All these hiring and firings better lead to more wins. Tired of all the shuffling chairs and tables on a sinking ship.

I’m glad they have the word “human” in the department title

Good. I don’t really care who they brought in but it needed to change. I would wager we are among the worst conditioned teams in the league or have been recently. We’ll never get anywhere if guys don’t give a shit about being in premium shape or showing up to training camp ready to go.

Don’t quite get why people are critical of this. All the work Gillis did on this end was abandoned by Benning.

Ownership meddling aside, many of the moves Allvin has made have been solid
