They played with a lot of jam against two strong opponents in both series. The Oilers were the better team. But then again, a team like Boston got knocked out in the first round.. It's nothing they did wrong overall. It's just that you are rolling the dice over only 7 games at a time. If the Oilers continue persevering, a Cup is likely going to happen soon.
There is no chance in hell that McDavid is staying in Edmonton. An injured Colorado getting knocked out early should have given Edmonton an easy path to the final. McDavid is probably hoping that Toronto and Matthews either fail to make a deal or only sign one for short term, cause anyone can sense his frustration and lack of patience. If I were Holland, I too would consider trading him before he walks to Toronto, his childhood dream team, for free in 2025. Half the cap being spend on four players = braindead decision.
2 Consecutive Games EXTREMELY WEAK 5 on 3's awarded to Vegas. The NHL could not look anymore BUSH LEAGUE!!!….If an Oiler pulled that garbage he would have been gone for the playoffs and everyone knows it…. ……And the 2 BEST players in the League have to sit and put on a smiley face for the League and try and sell this BUSH LEAGUE GARBAGE after the League just basically gave the Green light for a PSYCHOPATH TO BASH THEM OVERHEAD. How they do it is amazing…….the fact that Gary Bettman can look these 2 in the eyes shows what a despicable piece of shit that man truly is….Bettman has to go.
What is difficult to talk about…is the psychology of the game….the split second intuitive decisions….and learning to simply be present at your best…as a team.

Gotta go through another season of playing tons of games as a team….to get back to that same spot again…where you get to take another run for the cup. Not easy to stomach right now…but it gets better as the next season gets going…and you get caught more in the moment of what the team is doing.
