Why are there so many cheapshots to the head these days? One of the reasons is that there is no enforcer anymore; an elbow to the head deserves a punch in the head; simple as that. Or else we can continue to see good players injured.

If the DoPS does not look into this hit, they will expose themselves as a joke. Tanev's motion prior to the hit shows intent to injure. There is nothing to defend here, even if you are a diehard Jets fan.

Let me just say this first – Definite suspension. Not sure how many games but Kuznetsov left the game. I’m a Jets fan, and I agree it’s a bad play. However. Tanev has had issues before, I don’t think he was throwing his elbow out intentionally. I’m not saying he didn’t hit him with his elbow, but he didn’t chicken wing the guy either. I hope Kuznetsov isn’t injured badly and Tanev deserves to miss some games, but I don’t think he did it on purpose- especially since he’s had suspensions before. Caps fans I think you played well, should’ve gotten a point out of it but that’s how it goes sometimes.
