I would… dang. i would simply not pick mitchkov… i think will smith and leo carlsson are the safer, higher ceiling picks.

Stay away from the young Russians. Too high variability on them even being able to be present. And in a city with so many eyes on the Habs, a 'progressive' city, the Logan Mailloux debacle and all, I think Mitchkov would have a real hard time fitting in here.
Don't take Michkov pick Wikenheiser instead. Worked great last time.

the value of a 5 pick is .75 of a nhl player.
the cost of moving up would be more than.75….so that would be a no.
the math says that moving down not up is the way to go.

There isn’t much difference between the players available 3 through 5 so personally I would rather have 2 first round picks. If Michkov is going to be at the draft and we pick him he won’t be going back to Russia.

#5 pick gets a top 6 forward ..Picking too high gets you a Type Toronto team ..We want a Type Boston team …The Panther pick will get an NHL goalie or a gift that presents like Hudsen last year …Very capable players often slip ..Look who Gorten picked for Boston below the first round …
No, I'm happy with 5, keep Florida's pick or exchange for other asset. Anyway, if the CH has enough confidence that Michkov is a good idea, others will too and they won't trade their pick!
