This is what happens when some poor poor billionaire wants the public to fund his scheme. If he REALLY wants the stadium and complex to be built, could he do it ? Of course. But as usual, the poor billionaire wants someone else to do the funding. Maybe he is related to Musk, the biggest freeloader in world history. Well, the people spoke, thankfully. And then the poor poor billionaires pay little or no tax. Gotta see this stuff to believe it. I hope they can find a way to stay in Arizona for the fans. I guess we will find out soon.
We all want a Canadian team out here. There are some optimal markets and studies saying so. Hell, I’d like to see a team that represents a whole province. People are saying Hamilton and Halifax are a Canadian candidate. Quebec would be most likely to come back first, but yk, it is how it is.

I really hope that they relocate to Quebec! There already is a brand new stadium in Quebec waiting for a team. Make-It-Happen NHL. I don't care if the little troll who is the commissioner doesn't wish to admit his horrendous failure in Arizona (where should NEVER be and NHL franchise). The heck with Bettman, move the Coyote's to Quebec City, and re-mane them the Nordiques!

Garry said in the past that they would consider quebec city as a emergency solution. They are ready just give it to them, less expensive and simpler for the nhl.
It’s stupid that there aren’t two Toronto teams. There are three tristate teams, 3 New York teams, three California teams, yet they won’t allow a 2nd Toronto team. The fans in Tempe literally voted against it and they’re still desperate to have a team there. Why the leafs ownership would block it doesn’t make any sense. It wouldn’t hurt leafs sales and would immediately create one of the best rivalries in the game, be a slam dunk financially for the league, instantly being among the top valued organizations and revenue creating teams along with the Rangers and Leafs.
They’d want to keep the team in the west. That’s why no Quebec City.
Quebec is way to small a market and no different as Winnipeg as you see they are already struggling financially

As a Canadian and huge Chiefs fan knowing that QC won’t get a team, boy would it be crazy to see KC have an NHL team.
All Canadians should stand together and back QUEBEC. We have enough goddamn American hot-weather teams. Imagine playing hockey in the desert, or in Houston. Ridiculous shit. This east-west imbalance is a smokescreen. The names of the conferences can be changed; how about the Campbell and the Norris, or the Gretzky and the Howe? And hasn't anybody noticed that Toronto is half-a-continent from the Atlantic Ocean, so why are the Leafs in the Atlantic Division? What bullshit! Any excuse not to have QUEBEC back in the NHL.
I've been a hockey/nhl fan since 1979 and I have to say that I've never really been able to get behind an nhl team in Arizona. I'm not sure why I can accept teams in Florida or Texas and not in Arizona. Kansas City seems like a good fit…Sacramento not so much.
Sad to see a team with such legends as Datsyuk, Weber and Hossa go…
I think Milwaukee is an under the radar option that should be explored, the Forum where the Bucks play I think is usable for hockey
People like to go on about population but guess what? The average NHL arena seats approximately 18,000 fans… Quebec city has a population of 500k+ and the people their would be more dedicated than any team already in the US.

Would love to see a team in Indianapolis, Kansas City, or Houston. Salt Lake or Quebec could work too, but a lot of people need to realize that ticket sales/arena revenue are only a piece of the puzzle. Corporate sponsorship and viewership are two factors that may ultimately decide what city gets them if they actually end up relocating.
Hartford and Quebec both had dedicated fanbases but their wasn’t enough buy-in from corporate affiliates and sponsors. Same could be said about Atlanta, but that’s more on the leagues mishandling. (Who doesn’t miss the thrashers?)
Bettman is just bad for the league, plain and simple.
