All season long I wanted to see him traded. Especially when the defense played great when he was injured.

The thing for me is I get so emotionally attached to the team that I can't stand the thought of them changing. I'd love to get the cup but I just enjoy cheering for these guys, the whole team and staff.

Morgan showed me I was wrong about his jam & ability to step up when it mattered the most. I was annoyed at his D-zone play after he came back from his knee injury, but he elevated big time in the post-season. He took a home team discount to help his team on his extension & I hope Matthews does the same to help strengthen the roster. If he only wants max money, then that tells me he's not serious about winning a Cup. This guy has already made 60M+ including his ELC. If he extends at a discount (13M aav) that's another 104M taking him to age 35. He could get more as a UFA, but he appears to like Toronto, so take a little less like Morgan & try to win a Cup with the Leafs. Other stars on other teams (MacKinnon) have made similar team friendly deals to help their clubs. You're a 200 ft player, still scoring 40 while dealing with a hand issue. Fingers crossed that Dubas is also re-upped.
